While Fashion Week tends to feature looks that even the chicest among us would have to tone down, occasionally something totally wearable makes an appearance on the runway. Case in point: the ladies at last week’s Valentino’s fall 2013 runway show in Milan. We love that the fresh face and polished side braid look is easy to recreate at home—and it’s a great a daytime style that can be amped up for a night out.

It seems like we have an endless list of weddings to attend these days, which means we’re constantly in need of some serious style advice. Thankfully, Ilana Stern, Founder and CEO of Weddington Way, an online boutique filled with gorgeous wedding party style picks, is sharing her wisdom with us all week long.

Top designers like Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli went crazy for lace in their Spring 2013 collections. The delicate fabric was all over runways in unexpected hues and with fresh new iterations like sheer lace panels and laser cut patterns. While this material is nothing new to wedding dresses, we love the idea of a bridal party dressed in all lace—especially in fun colors!

Spoiler alert: Some of our members will be receiving exclusive lace-printed Twistbands in their September Birchboxes!
As much as we love summer, fall fashion is so much more fun. Load of layers, cozy sweaters, kicky boots—there are too many options. One trend we’re particularly excited about this season is lace. We love the girly texture so much that we teamed up with Twistband to create a custom collection of lace-printed hair ties. We’ll be sampling these ultra-feminine hair ties to many of our members this month—get excited!
The exclusive set of six hair ties is the perfect way to add the ultra-feminine fabric to your wardrobe. When we created the collection we took color inspiration from the Fall 2012 catwalks—shows like Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg, and Lanvin. If you’re like us, you really only watch awards shows to catch the stars strutting down the red carpet in their fabulous (or less-than-fabulous) looks. Last night’s SAG awards didn’t disappoint: from Emma Stone’s knockout Alexander McQueen dress to Michelle Williams’ sassy red, lace-sleeved Valentino number to Viola Davis’ beaded Marchesa gown, there was so much style it kept our eyes glued to the screen.
But the best parts of the evening were a few stars that we swore were doppelgangers for someone else. Lookout, SAGs! It’s the attack of the look-a-likes. Click through to see our favorite “is that you?” moments!

Giorgio Armani Prive fall haute couture 2011, Valentino haute couture fall 2011, Giambattista Valli fall couture 2011
This fall is all about bows galore. Runway shows usually give insight to what the coming season will bring trend-wise, and as of recent, we’ve seen models donning loads of these girly looped wonders. Valentino, Giorgio Armani Prive, and Giambattista Valli (just to name a few) all incorporated bows—oversize atop heads, accents for ultra-feminine dresses, and, of course, as details on shoes and jewelry. And here’s the great news: You don’t have to blow your bank account to partake in the trend. Thanks to our star guest curator Cynthia Rowley, our latest gift with purchase is your ticket to keeping up with this latest high-fashion fad. When you spend $25 or more on full size product in our shop, you receive an absolutely to-die-for plastic bow ring designed by Cynthia herself. (Just use the code ‘cynthiaring’ at checkout.)

This is, by far, my favorite gift with purchase yet, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the hot pink version. So if you’ve been waiting to buy that product that you sampled or you’re just ready to buy that nail polish you’ve been lusting after—now is the time. Get shopping because they are flying out the door!

Olivia Palermo is truly a style icon. The New York socialite has been out and about in Paris this past week for the couture fall/winter 2011 shows.Throughout all the elegant events that coincide with the four-day affair, the trendsetter has been on a major sartorial roll. From Giambattista Valli to Valentino to Armani Prive and even the White Fairy Tale Love Ball, Palermo has stepped out in one covet-worthy ensemble after another. (I wonder how many suitcases she had to pack?) While I’ve adored her every fashion moment, I am particularly smitten with the outfit she wore front row at Stephane Rolland. The vibrant watercolor dress and dramatic purple accessories have me just itching to go on a shopping spree and incorporate some more color into my summer wardrobe. Inspired by her look, these are the items I’d love to buy.
