Truth is, you don’t need to throw money at expensive flights and hotels to truly unwind.
The trip you’ve been dreaming of is right under your nose.

This week our community manager Juliette is in Mexico—enjoying some beachside lounging, tropical breezes and ridiculously yummy-looking food (exhibit A: the avocado salad above).

In just a few short days, I’ll be heading to Manzanillo in the Mexican Riviera for a much-needed vacation with my boyfriend and his family. I plan on staying on the beach from sunrise to sunset, eating incredible food, drinking delicious wine, spending quality time with people I love, and unplugging—save for a few too-pretty-not-to-Instagram moments. Here’s what I’m packing for a week of carefree beach vacationing:

Our creative team is pretty, well, creative and they come across beautiful imagery all the time. Why not share the inspiration? Keep an eye out each Friday for their Mood Board, a collection of images they’re loving.

It’s that time of year when we’re all itching to head somewhere warm, escape the remainder of winter, and hope that when we return, spring will be in full swing. While some of us are at SXSW, and others of us have sunny plans, there are many of us who don’t have any trips on the calendar. Hopefully these images inspire you to book your next vacay!
We have a deep, abiding love for all things fashion, which is why we often turn to stylish online boutique ModCloth to snag everything from chunky, bold bracelets to fancy frocks. This week, we asked the ModCloth fashion mavens to impart some of their style wisdom to us—and therefore you.

Everyone back East thinks that just because I live in California, it’s rainbows and sunshine all the time. If only! In San Francisco, where ModCloth is based, we’re lucky if the thermometer breaks 65 degrees—even during the height of summer. So, just like my East Coast friends, I’m pining for a long-awaited winter getaway somewhere warm. And what better way to get in the mood for sun, surf, and sand than by planning my packing list for my dream vacation?
Amanda Graber, our new director of PR & strategic partnerships, just jetted off to Georgia for the weekend and we were dying to find out what she packed for a few days in the hot, humid, sticky South. From mascara to maxi dresses, here’s what she brought with her.
Tibi dress, Stella McCartney ’Sheer Stella Eau de Toilette’, Stila Glamoureyes, No-Ad sunscreen, Christine Chin sunscreen, Essie polishes, hair tie
Maxi dresses: The Georgian heat is a killer so less-is-more is definitely my moto when I’m there. I’ll be packing this Yumi Kim dress because it’s effortless and airy.
Hair ties: Alex and Isabelle are my fave, they do the trick. (Hair must be up at all times in the South.) Plus, they also look pretty.
Suncream: No-Ad suncream is my go-to when it comes to SPF on my body. I love that it’s not oily and smells amazing. For my face I use beauty guru Christine Chin SPF 25. (Side note: She gives the best facial in NYC.)
Mascara: Stila Glamoureyes is absolutely perfect for vacation, it stays on all day and makes your eyes really pop.
Perfume: I like to alternate my scents throughout the seasons, so for summer I am wearing Stella McCartney’s ‘Sheer Stella Eau de Toilette. I adore the vintage-looking bottle it comes in because it really dresses up my vanity table.
Nail Polish: I don’t like to wear too much makeup during the summer and let my hands do the talking. I am a true Essie gal and I try to pick a new color every time I visit the salon especially in the summer when you can be more adventurous with color. I also love mixing polishes and one of my favorite combos is Sugar Daddy and Fed Up.
