How To: Curl Short Hair
You may know Birchbox staffer Whitney as one of our dedicated discovery specialists, but what you probably don’t know is that she’s also a creative genius at work behind the scenes of our video program. Since she’s a hairstyling wiz to boot, we recently dragged her out from behind the camera to show off her skills with a curling iron on her newly-chopped hair. Watch the video above to learn how to transform a short bob into a curly style, perfect for a Saturday night out or getting prepped for the holiday party season.
Who says girls with long hair get to have all the fun? Let us know in the comments what your favorite short hair styles are—we may just persuade Whitney to make another tutorial!

Top Beauty Blunders: Foundation Blending
Blending your foundation is an essential skill that every makeup-wearing gal should know. A great base not only sets the stage for your entire makeup look, but it also ensures that people are looking at you and not your poor makeup job. We’ve all seen unfortunate cases of mismatched foundation, too-bright concealer, awkwardly covered brows, and more.
Here, Birchbox staffer Deepica shows us how to avoid these top beauty blunders. (We can admit it: We’ve all fallen victim to at least one of these issues at some point.)

How To: Sock Bun Tutorial with The Wrap Up
In the summer, I always look for the easiest and quickest hairstyle option on the days I can’t be bothered with my long hair. One of my favorite go-to looks is the classic top knot. While it may seem like a simple hairdo, it can be a little tricky to get perfectly right. SarahPotempa’s The WRAP UP™ is a new tool to the Birchbox Shop that makes it super easy for me to roll my hair up and away from my face, keeping me cool while still looking polished. What makes it even better is that it secures the bun in place without bobby pins! Check out the video to learn how to use The Wrap Up to get that perfect sock bun because this look isn’t going anywhere.

We’ll never tire of video tutorials, but sometimes we want a step-by-step that we can move through at our own pace. Enter: gif tutorials. Like videos, they make it easy for us to imitate the motions, but we don’t have to press pause every time we need to take a second look. Plus, they’re pretty fun to watch. Our new series will show how to get our favorite looks—from braids to cat eyes to sunless tanning—in simple, gif-tastic ways.
Summer calls for a number of sleeveless occasions and sometimes we just don’t have time to go through the whole process of fake tanning to get that pretty bronzed glow. Enter: Caudalie Divine Legs. And despite its name, there’s no reason you can’t use this lotion on your arms. In fact, we encourage it! Read on to see how editor Lorelei gets her arms bronzed and even in just a few minutes.
1. Grab your Caudalie Divine Legs and pump a small amount of lotion into your palm. And don’t worry about accidentally staining your hands — this innovative formula washes right off with soap and water!
