We’re devoted fans of all things polish in the Birchbox offices, so of course Gina Galullo’s nail polish blog, Prim and Polished, caught our eye. This week, she shares the products she can’t live without, plus the work-appropriate shades you can even rock in your cubicle.

The 5 Minute Face: Guest Blogger

Freelance makeup artist Jennifer Duvall has kept us entranced with her blog jennysuemakeup.com for months. The Georgia blogger is the ultimate multi-tasker as both a makeup guru and a mommy of three! We love her great how-to advice and awesome product reviews, which is why we’re so excited that this week, she’s graciously sharing her style secrets with us.

It’s not really my specialty to do my makeup in a hurry, but there are times I like a good challenge. The other morning, I decided to set my iPhone timer for exactly 5 minutes to see if I could actually accomplish the daunting task. Granted, this isn’t the full face of makeup that I typically sport, but it was definitely enough so I wouldn’t be embarrassed if I ran into someone I know at the local coffee shop. Here are my before and after shots so you can see what can be done in 5 minutes flat. (I can’t believe I’m showing you my bare morning face and robe ensemble, but I’m doing this to show everyone there’s hope even when time’s an issue!)

On your mark. Get set. GO!

Vivid prints and patterns are totally my thing, which is why I can never seem to leave the house without a bright chevron knit from Missoni. One of my favorite looks for spring/summer 2012 is this dress (above) by Etro. I’m obsessed with the color combination, and as soon as I saw it, I started to think about what makeup would go well with it.

Summer = sun-kissed skin = the perfect palette to work with. All I can think about is coral lips and shimmer everything! Here are my picks to get that easy-breezy summer look:

Eyes
Stila Sparkle Liquid Eye Liner in “Royal”

Face
Too Faced Peach Leopard Brightening and Perfecting Bronzer

Lips
Dior Addict Lip Polish in “Glow Expert”

Nails
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in “Mermaid’s Dream”

Searching for a way to get the summer glow even when it’s cold out? Try this sheer, glowy luminizer from RMS.

When it comes to my everyday makeup, I tend to keep things pretty simple. If my skin isn’t having ‘a moment,’ I can skip foundation and get away with just dabbing on some concealer and bronzer. But I always make sure to fill my brows and apply a coat of mascaraI definitely feel naked without those. These are the products I use on a daily basis:

No face is complete without bronzer. A faux glow brightens up a dull visage, and gives your face instant warmth. I prefer matte bronzers during the fall and winter, and shimmer during the summer or when I have an amazing tan. Sometimes, I even dust a matte bronzer over my entire face and use the shimmer bronzer as a highlighter.

Poesy Gets All Pouty in Cannes

Photo: Zimbio.com

Clemence Poesy wowed the crowds with platinum blonde locks and a bold red lip at amfAR’s Cinema Against Aids Gala during the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival. From her porcelain sun-protected skin to her subtle eye makeup, we love everything about this look. Though we can’t mimic her awesome light-blue eyes and her hair color certainly wouldn’t work on everyone, we did some exploring to find out what beauty products would best mimic Clemence’s striking visage.

Dewy Skin: Choose Too Faced Primed and Poreless Face Primer to smooth creases, giving your skin a glowing base to keep your makeup from moving around.

Even Color: For a flawless complexion, use Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint to neutralize any uneven pigmentation.

Bright Eyes: Clemence’s eyes pop while still looking natural. Get the look with Stila eye shadow — just pick the hue that’s a notch lighter than your skin tone. Clemence would use Prize or Dune.

Glamorous Lashes: Whether your lashes are long or short, Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara is the best way to give your eyes that sultry touch.

Ruby Red Pout: Copy Clemence’s perfectly rouged lips with NARS Semi-Matte Lipstick in Shanghai Express.

You Shouldn’t Sleep in Your Makeup…

…but if you were to happen to maybe have too much punch on New Year’s Eve and maybe forget to properly remove your makeup before falling into bed, these products would be so long-wearing that they wouldn’t smudge even as you snored:

Too Faced Primed and Poreless: Helped my makeup go on, helped it stay on. Woke up bleary-eyed and puffy, but with still smooth-looking foundation. How ever did that happen?

Smashbox High Definition Healthy FX Foundation: I’m not a foundation girl but, you know, it was New Year’s Eve. Makeup artists say this is a good product for tinted moisturizer fans because it’s practically weightless. I love how it blends in and doesn’t leave any streaky marks.

Guerlain Liquid Liner: Truly a miracle that this lasted from 7pm to 9am, without even a smudge.

Jouer Moisturizing Gloss in Glisten: Nah, this didn’t stay on my lips. BUT I did find sparkles on my cheeks in the morning. That counts, right?
