Taylor Swift is, without a doubt, one of 2012’s leading ladies. Thanks to her best-selling album Red (1.2 million copies sold in one week, thankyouverymuch) and some love life ups and downs (here’s looking at you, young master Kennedy), the Nashville-based country pop star was never ever ever too far from the spotlight.
But beyond the career and romantic escapades, Tay Tay also established a signature look this year: bold red lips, eye-grazing fringe, and a much more sophisticated style—and we totally want to steal it for ourselves. Luckily, the beauties at JolieBox have deciphered how to score her style in just a few steps.
Here’s how to get Taylor’s look.

Happy 2013! Our staffers have a long list of new year’s resolutions. What are yours?

It’s all about the lips for Leighton Meester. (Photo: Glamour)
The holidays aren’t just the time to break out the ugly sweaters or the figure-hugging cocktail dresses that inevitably feel a little too snug after downing a bunch of pigs in a blanket. It’s also the time to make a statement when it comes to your hair and makeup. That means tweaking your usual routine, if only by the slightest degree. After cruising the web for inspiration, we picked three fresh celeb-derived looks we can’t wait to try this party season:
1. Glossy red lips. Leighton Meester showed us how it’s done at the Target + Neiman Marcus party in New York this week. Her vibrant lipstick looked classic yet twentysomething-appropriate thanks to its shiny, glasslike veneer.

While the American Music Awards don’t have the same pomp and circumstance as the Grammy’s, the show is still a favorite to watch since it’s essentially one epic concert filled with the best songs and performers from the last year. Last night’s 40th Anniversary edition was no exception, with rocking sets by everyone from Carrie Underwood and Usher to Nicki Minaj and K-pop star Psy (with a special guest). For your entertainment, the five performances from last night that we’re playing on repeat this morning:

We don’t usually go in for the celebrity fragrance craze, but we actually think it would be lovely to smell like one pop star in particular: Taylor Swift. It’s not only her voice and lyrics that are addictive—her fragrance, Wonderstruck, is as well. It has us spritzing and singing her songs in the office. We’re excited to sample it this month—find out why all we love it.

Staffer: Ally, Operations Associate
Favorite Taylor Swift Song: Total tie between ‘Hey Stephen’ and ‘Dear John’. Both are classic examples of her genuine songwriting style.
Why She Loves Wonderstruck: “First, I admire any woman who writes and composes her own music. Plus, I love Wonderstruck because it makes me smell delicious and my boyfriend really likes it!”

With everything going on last night (Downton Abbey! Bloglovin’ Awards! Sleep!), you’re forgiven if you opted out of the Grammy’s. Lucky for you, we took copious notes. Herewith, our not-at-all-comprehensive cheat sheet to last night’s awards.
All Hail the Queen: Adele was, hands down, the night’s biggest winner. Not only did the British songwriter and singer go six for six, but she also delivered a powerhouse performance and rocked a cheeky Christian Louboutin mani.
Wish She’d Go Away: Nicki Minaj. Between her Little Red Riding Hood Goes to the Vatican getup and her bizarre exorcism-inspired performance, we’re so over it. Can’t she go back to boom, badoom, boom?

Quick on the heels of two Photoshop debacles that blew up our blog recently (see: The Great Photoshop Debate and H&M’s Scandal), here comes another. Last Friday, Procter & Gamble, the parent company of CoverGirl, pulled one of their NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara ads featuring Taylor Swift. The company made the move after the National Advertising Division (NAD), a watchdog agency and part of the Council of the Better Business Bureau, launched an investigation into their photoshopping practices.
