7 NYFW Street Style Beauty Looks to Copy Right Now
At New York Fashion Week Fall 2013, the insanely cool outfits, spot-on make up, and lush locks outside the shows impressed us just as much as the trends we peeped backstage. And considering the crazy weather (including a little storm called Nemo), it took a lot of work to look impeccably chic. As an ode to the gorgeous ladies who nailed it—in sky-high heels, naturally—we put together a slideshow of our favorite beauty looks.
1. Sea of Shoes’ Jane Aldridge rocked vivid strawberry-blond hair and bright lips.
2. Samantha, an Assistant Editor at WGSN, paired blunt bangs with barely there face makeup and a classic red pout.
3. Model Mariana protected her sensitive skin and dyed locks from sun damage with ginormous designer shades and a cozy fur hat.
4. Fashion blogger Kim (pictured at right) pulled off impressive retro-inspired cat eyes.
5. Seventeen Accessories Editor Jasmine kept it casual with a sleek topknot.
6. Kelly opted for slicked back strands—and yes, of course, she’s a model.
7. Just when we though ombre hair was quickly becoming passé, we crossed paths with Serena. The foodie and fashion blogger made the look seem totally fresh.

My appreciation of street style
is no surprise, and I am constantly going to The Sartorialist
to get inspired by different fashion and beauty looks. Through Scott Schuman’s lens, it’s easy to see that it’s not just about the outfit. The shade of lipstick, arch of the eyebrows, or pearlescent tone of the skin can transform and elevate any look. I recently ran across one of my favorites from the archives: this colorful shot of Niama
. Her stylish outfit conveys the look of an urban tourist in a tropical, concrete jungle. But it’s Niama’s radiant fuchsia lips
that steal the show by adding a touch of brightness and playfulness to complete her look.
When it comes to figuring out what makeup to invest in right now, think beyond your New Year’s Eve beauty look. Picking winter makeup for daily use is a much tougher challenge. At this time of year, you’re in danger of looking either washed out or too made up during the day. That’s why we love this simple but beautiful look with just a bit of eye liner and some punchy red lipstick. If you’d prefer a pucker that’s more of a stain, simply blot your lips after applying your shade of choice.

When I came across this image, it caught my eye immediately. I have a thing for mixing colors that belong to the same family, so I love the combo of hot pink and salmon. Beyond the expert palette mixing, I can’t resist the extras: the retro keyhole-style sunglasses and messy topknot. And who doesn’t appreciate swipe of bubblegum-bright lipstick? Here’s how you can get this look yourself:
