A Playlist For A Dance Party At Your Desk: Friday Funday
Every now and then, you’ll catch Birchbox staffers spontaneously bustin’ a move in their chairs. (Our specialties: the shopping cart, the sprinkler, and occasionally the robot.) But in order to get us to show off our dance floor skills, you need to provide us with a kickbutt playlist. Enter the Birchbox UK team with some Friday Funday magic—no sooner had we thought that we needed a little afternoon pick-me-up than their brilliant Fresh Start playlist appeared in our inboxes.
Nothing’s better at the end of the work-week than a little Ellie Goulding, Rolling Stones, Alabama Shakes, and Arcade Fire. Here are all the jams you need to get you through to the weekend.
Need a Friday night playlist? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are the tunes we listen to when we’re getting ready for a night out.
We don’t play music at Birchbox HQ very often (with the exception of our workday workout tunes), but you can regularly find our Birchbox Man editors Martin and Kyle wearing stylish ear buds and bopping to their personal playlists. (Correction: Birchbox Men do not bop; they jam.) Now—finally—they’re sharing with the rest of us. Check out the Birchbox Man Best of 2012 Playlist with appearances by Alabama Shakes, Fun., The XX, Frank Ocean and more. These tracks were made for working out, hanging out, and chilling out.
Take a listen and tell us: What were your favorite songs of 2012?
For the times when you do want to broadcast your playlist, try Triple C Designs’ iSpeeker. Birchbox Man calls it the boombox for our era.
Our creative team is pretty, well, creative and they come across beautiful imagery, design, and so much more all the time. Once a week, they’ll be sharing their latest inspirations—from pretty-hued wrapping paper to silly YouTube memes—so you can see the unexpected items that get them fired up.
Every once in awhile, you need some serious beats to keep you going. Whenever I have designer’s block, I like to tune out the noise of the Birchbox office and listen to some of my favorite songs. Just like my wide-ranging taste in design, I enjoy multiple genres and artists—which is why you’ll find everything from First Aid Kit to A Tribe Called Quest on my playlist. Take a listen to my Spotify mix below and enjoy!
