As you know, lots of heat styling—say, every day after work (see below for more on that)—means lots of hair damage. To help save my totally stressed hair, I’ve been using hair masks (which I’ve already proclaimed my love for before). This month I’m excited because one of my absolute favorites, amika’s Obliphica Nourishing Mask, will be in some of your Birchboxes! You can use it as a weekly hair mask or a daily conditioner but either way the result is soft, shiny hair. Obliphica oil is rich in natural vitamins and omega acids, which help repair heat styling damage. And the scent is so nice you’ll be smelling your hair all day.
But the mask isn’t the only amika item that I’m obsessed with this month—I’m also totally crushing on our brand new amika Birchbox Mini Ceramic Styler (with an adorable peacock pattern chosen by our Facebook fans!) that’s hitting the Birchbox shop.
You might be surprised to find out that all five of these incredibly successful, gorgeous women all have one thing in common (besides being silver screen stars): wrinkle-banishing beauty brand Frownies. Raquel Welch professed a love for Frownies Facial Patches in her aptly titled autobiography Beyond the Cleavage, while Sex & the City’s makeup artist Eve Pearl confessed that the brand’s Wrinkle Treatment was an on-set essential. But our current Frownies fave, which some of you will be receiving in your Birchbox this month, are the revitalizing Eye Gels patches.
Over the years, I’ve caught whiffs of many a fancy fragrance, especially during my time here at Birchbox. But here’s the thing I’ve noticed about most floral perfumes: they don’t actually smell like flowers. Maybe my nose hasn’t reached the zenith of olfactory sophistication, but I can never seem to identify any particular blossom in a scent—and who can blame me, when the majority of perfumes feature upwards of a dozen notes?
