Meet The Ace Wrinkle Fighter We Heart
What is it? pūr~lisse pūr~youth preserve age delay skin serum, a potent anti-aging serum powered by blue lotus flower, rice bran, and antioxidants.
Who is it perfect for? Anyone looking to stave off or soften the inevitable effects of Father Time. It might sound counter-intuitive, but you should start to think about anti-aging products around 25 since that’s when your skin starts to lose elasticity. In addition to your regular routine (wash, tone, moisturize, and exfoliate twice a week), add in this featherlight serum to prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles.
How do I use it? Keep in mind that serums are super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Start by smoothing on half a pump of product and blend evenly onto your complexion and neck. Here’s the most important step though: allow the gel-like formula to sink in for a few moments before continuing with the next step in you skincare routine. Mixing in another product too soon will prevent the ingredients in the formula from fully sinking into your skin.
Have you tried this age-fighting serum? Tell us what you think!
Love what you see? You could find this product, and ones just like it, in a Birchbox! Here’s how you can join in on the fun.

Let Kelly Osborne Serve As A Cautionary Tale—Slather Up!
Nothing makes my skin crawl quite like seeing someone with a bad sunburn. As a fair skinned person myself, I’ve been there before. Aside from a bad burn being incredibly uncomfortable—little things like putting on a bra can be agony—you also feel major remorse that you’ve done irrevocable damage to your skin. (Oh, and let’s not forget the post-burn peeling. Ick.)
I got that same slightly nauseated feeling when I saw this pic that Kelly Osborne tweeted the other day with the hastag #Imsmart. I turned my own sun protection corner in 2004 after a particularly traumatic burn while in the Bahamas on spring break, and haven’t suffered another burn since. When I see a picture like Kelly’s it makes me wonder why more people aren’t as on top of sun protection as they could be. While everyone makes the occasional mistake, we all know by now just how important SPF is. To keep yourself from suddenly finding yourself lobster red, here are a couple of my favorite SPF products, plus a must-watch primer on the lesser-known facts of sunscreen. When it comes to your skin, it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Coola SPF 45 Sport: This water-resistant sweat-proof formula is great for the beach or any outdoor activity. I particularly love this one because it’s completely hypoallergenic and moisturizes with a blend of organic botanicals.
Supergoop!® City Sunscreen Serum: All the antiaging benefits of a serum, plus SPF 30. This is my day-to-day go-to because it’s exceptionally lightweight and perfect under makeup.
Supergoop!® Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream: My new favorite thing. I tend to avoid my eye area when applying sunscreen, and this targeted cream ensures that I protect the most sensitive area of my face.

Totally Crushing On: By Terry’s New Spring Line

There are a handful of beauty products that I have a serious weakness for: Chanel nail polishes, Serge Lutens perfumes, and BY TERRY anything. So when I had the chance to stop by the brand’s spring preview last week, I was pretty pumped to check out their new lipsticks, polish, and a super scientific skincare addition.

After buying the Rouge Terrybly lipstick in Frenetic Vermilion last spring—I’m obsessed—I became a convert to bold lip colors, but rarely find the right opportunity to wear it. (This is where every other Birchbox editor would say, “wear it literally all the time.”) After spending a week with their new Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge Hydra-balm lipstick, I’m pretty enamored. The formula includes hyaluronic acid to hydrate and it also has just the right amount of pigment to wear during the day at work or build for a deeper color when I’m heading out at night.

I’m also loving their new Cellularose brightening serum. I’ve been using Kiehl’s Dark Spot Solution to help tend to errant marks lately—but this rose-based option is quickly becoming my new favorite. The gel-like solution uses white rose native cells to brighten skin and flower acids to help even out skin tone. After using it for even a few days, I’ve seen a noticeable difference in my complexion.

The only downside? These products are a bit of a splurge, but in my opinion, totally worth it. Snag the hydrabalm lipstick for $35, and the Cellularose brightening serum for $117.

Dry Winter Skin Cured at the Kiehl’s + Birchbox Event

We’ve learned the hard way that even if we invest in a fancy humidifier and drink tons of water, when it comes to dry scaly winter skin the real game changers are a good moisturizer and a kickbutt serum. We know your seasonal complexion woes, which is why we teamed up with Kiehl’s on Tuesday night to host a New Year refresher event at their posh Upper East Side boutique.

From healthy skin consultations to hand massages, the space was packed with women who looked far more glowy on the way out than they did on the way in. Attendees received treatments with some of our favorite products like the Creme de Corps and the Acai Damage-Repairing Serum

And products weren’t the only thing getting a test drive. In honor of this January’s theme #mybestyear, we invited BluePrint Cleanse to set up a juice bar for ultrahealthy taste testing. (Officially, we can’t decide if we love the Pineapple Apple Mint or the Cashew Vanilla Cinnamon Agave flavor more.)

Wonder Product: LIFTLAB Lift & Fix High Potency Solution

Whenever a new skincare product lands in Birchbox Contentland, the first thing we do is look at the label. Thanks to lots of research (and Lorelei’s dog-eared copy of Milady’s Skin Care and Cosmetics Ingredients Dictionary), my team has become pretty geeky about ingredients and delivery systems. Lately, most of our nerdy attention is being directed at LIFTLAB Lift & Fix High Potency Solution, a serum that is so advanced, it deserves its own product category.

LIFTLAB was founded by Elliot Entis, a biotech engineer, and its products are all based around Cell Protection Proteins, which were discovered in the ’50s in the Arctic. These special proteins (CPP for short) are what Arctic plants, animals, insects, and fish use to protect themselves from the extreme weather. Entis and his lab found a way to adapt CPP to be used in skincare, which means good things for your complexion. LIFTLAB’s Lift & Fix High Potency Solution is an ultra-lightweight serum that helps protect skin against environmental damage and premature aging using CPPs, arnica extract, aquafill, and other ingredients. It’s extremely concentrated, so it’s less about hydration and more about pushing as many active ingredients into your skin as possible. Used regularly, it helps reduce redness and hyperpigmentation and gives skin a line-free, fresh look.
