It’s time to ditch the wool tights, marshmallow-y puffer coats, and your heavy-duty winter skincare essentials. The transition from winter to spring is the perfect time to revamp, reassess, and update your go-to beauty lineup. Just in time for spring’s warm weather, we’ve rounded up the best skin-glowing tips to try right now:
We’re three days into spring, and it still feels pretty chilly outside. Not that we’re lobbying for tank top season just yet, but it’d be nice to toss off these scarves soon. Our friends at Food 52 just twisted the knife a little bit harder with their list of 10 Recipes to Welcome Spring—hello rosy rhubarb curd shortbread, decadent morel crostini, and sunny radish couscous.
Since Birchbox HQ has plenty of beauty products but nary a garden plot, we’ve put together our own list of 10 beauty trends to welcome (or shall we say hasten) spring’s arrival.
Last week my aunt shot me a semi-despairing email that plaintively asked, “Candice, what’s a concealer that really covers dark circles?” She had unsuccessfully tried several formulas that wouldn’t even last through a normal workday, and was in need of some serious help. Since I’ve suffered from every face malady requiring a concealer—acne, scars, blemishes, undereye circles, the list goes on—and my combination skin poses its own set of challenges, I decided to come up with a mini-guide on how to find the perfect concealer for you.
There are two red carpets that we watch every year with bated breath: the Oscars and, of course, the Met Ball. All the stars come out for these fashion-forward events, and we couldn’t take our eyes off of all the gorgeous looks that strutted down Fifth Avenue last night. Here are a few of our editors’ favorite, unforgettable styles from the evening:
I had a hard time picking a favorite, but I don’t think anyone was as stunning as Camilla Belle (although Diane Kruger did look pretty superb). I absolutely adored Belle’s curve-hugging beaded gown, which struck the exact right balance between sexy and glamorous. What’s more, her hair and makeup were the perfect compliment to her dazzling dress. And kudos to the star for choosing such a daring, deep red pucker. Usually, that wine-stained shade is reserved for the winter, but I think the actress is on to Hollywood’s hottest new trend for the summer. —Meredith
