Birchbox’s staff happens to be overwhelmingly female (no shock there) so if we’re not talking about beauty, chances are we’re talking about fashion (or tech, or start ups…). We especially love when two of our biggest interests collide, which is why we’re exceptionally proud to be partnering on our July box with one of our favorite designers, Cynthia Rowley.
For years we’ve loved her lighthearted feminine aesthetic, and no one appreciates her use of vibrant colors more than we do. Last week, the designer showed her resort 2012 collection, which is full of eye-catching patterns and unusual details, and we especially loved the billowy canary yellow cutaway maxi skirt—something right out of our dreams, to be sure.
While it was hard to get past all the pretty clothes, we were struck by the beauty look. The models’ eyelids were awash in a hot pink shadow that dramatically winged out. It’s not a wearable daytime look, but super-fun for a summertime evening event and I bet you could get that exact same effect using Makeup Forever’s eyeshadow in Neon Pink 75.
