Another dispatch from the seemingly never-ending Photoshop debate. Britain’s Advertising Standard Authority has banned Rachel Weisz’s new ad for L’Oréal Revitalift Repair 10 due to, of course, too much photoshopping.

Quick on the heels of two Photoshop debacles that blew up our blog recently (see: The Great Photoshop Debate and H&M’s Scandal), here comes another. Last Friday, Procter & Gamble, the parent company of CoverGirl, pulled one of their NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara ads featuring Taylor Swift. The company made the move after the National Advertising Division (NAD), a watchdog agency and part of the Council of the Better Business Bureau, launched an investigation into their photoshopping practices.

A few days ago The Great Photoshop Debate really heated up on our blog when we pondered whether a label on a photoshopped picture could remind us that no one looks as perfect in the flesh as they do in magazines. Now, there’s an even crazier controversy on our hands: how virtual is too virtual? For their new lingerie campaign, H&M took real model’s faces and photoshopped them on top of computer-generated bodies.
