This year, summer wedding season has overflowed into fall (some of us have been to three weddings in September alone!). Needless to say, we’re running out of updo ideas. But at last week’s Badgley Mischka show, we spied a romantic look that we’ll be adapting for our next event.
Both the collection and the beauty took inspiration from the 1935 A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream film adaptation. Created by stylist Peter Gray for Moroccan Oil, the hair was a direct reference to one of the movie’s stars, Olivia de Haveland. “There’s a scene where she’s a woodland nymph and wearing an old gossamer wig; she’s white-blonde, everything is back-lit, and her hair is looking very dreamy and chiffon-like,” said Gray.
