We’re Loving Olivia Wilde’s Makeup-Free Look

Photo: glamour.com

A quick shout-out to the Girls in the Beauty Department over at Glamour. They scouted this picture of Olivia Wilde looking fresh-faced and oh-so-pretty at last week’s Tribeca Film Festival Awards. The star, who appears in the upcoming film Rush (due out in 2013), went makeup free to a night event—and we have to say we’ve got an even bigger girl crush on her now than we did before. We love a girl who can pull off both a glam red-carpet style and a cute, laidback look like this (sans makeup or hair product), at a shindig like the Tribeca Film Festival. It inspires us to try heading out for a night on the town without getting über-gussied up, too.

It’s that time of year again! Spring seems to bring in a seriously strong desire to change up your look, and over the last couple of weeks, we’ve noticed that a number of celebrities have been embracing that metamorphosis mentality.

In a dramatic change, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara has gotten a makeover. After her blunt bangs and jet black bob, Mara has gone copper-toned with dip-dyed blonde ends, for her new role in Steven Soderbergh’s film, A Bitter Pill. We can barely recognize her. Click through to see more of our favorite new hair looks!

Reading List: New Celeb Haircuts, The Perfect Woman, Vitamin D, and More

Welcome back to another edition of our reading list! This first week of January was an exciting one, what with all the new celebrity haircuts and designer fragrances. Click through to find out what the perfect woman looks like, and what you should be putting on your face this winter.

  • Olivia Wilde debuted a new shorter, blonder cut this week to correspond with a new boyfriend, SNL star, Jason Sudeikis. The new look is cute but have to say we prefer her with long brown hair. [US Magazine]
  • A UK website recently conducted a poll of the most attractive female features and put together an image of the “perfect woman.” Not surprisingly, Angelina Jolie’s Lips, Keira Knightly’s cheekbones, and Kate Middleton’s hair all made the list. [The Gloss]
  • We’re big fans of vitamin D for our skin and overall mood but is it really necessary? This interview with Dr. Dennis Gross may help you decide for yourself. [Refinery29]
  • Fashionista examines the value of face oils for many different skin types. Plus, see their favorite product picks. [Fashionista]

Best Celebrity Ponytails of 2011 — Vote for Your Favorite!

One of my favorite things to see on the red carpet is a really chic ponytail. Because unlike complicated chignons or intimidating side-swept updos, ponytails are beautiful in their simplicity. From tightly pulled back to messy-sexy, ponytails are easy to replicate. This past year, celebs sported plenty sassy ponies and I’ve rounded up the best. Which one is your favorte? Vote in the poll below!

When I saw this photo of Olivia Wilde back in August at the Berlin premiere of her movie, Cowboys and Aliens, I was mesmerized. As far as I know, this is the first time a celeb has sectioned off a pony like this with elastics (for a red carpet event anyway). Given how great the look is, I don’t think it will be the last. I especially liked the sci-fi feel of the style, which was very fitting given the film’s premise.
