New York Fashion Week might have come to an end, but we’re still gushing over our favorite manicures from the fall 2012 shows. We wanted to round up the highlights, so we came up with the five standouts that have inspired us to test out new designs.

The Look: Gorgeous lacey, spider web nails by Color Club that were created to match the laser-cut pieces. Lead manicurist Alicia Torello used a specially made dove gray nail art pen to draw tiny stripes back and forth free-hand over the nail, mimicking the unique, romantic feel of lace.

No one knows cool manicures better than our good friend Taryn Multack of the sensational nail art blog, Miss LadyFinger. We thought we’d utilize her expertise this season and send her backstage at L.A.M.B. to see what fun look Color Club was whipping up. Like a pro, she got the deets on the presentation’s edgy design, which is surprisingly easy to replicate.
Retro-punk was the vibe backstage at Saturday’s L.A.M.B. presentation. Accordingly, nails were only half-painted to achieve a unique worn effect. “We wanted to emphasize the edginess of the L.A.M.B. collection,” said Alicia Torello, the lead manicurist for Color Club, “so we are going for a purposefully chipped look.”

Last month was all about keeping things clean and simple. This month, however, I’m switching gears and need a bit of rejuvenation. I want to kick off February with a burst of color that will keep me pumping through the rest of winter (that darn groundhog!) and I think that Color Club in Disco Dress is just what I need. Violet is thought to be associated with imagination and inspiration and I’m hoping this super-charged purple will spark both. The perfect mix of bright and dark, I can’t wait to paint my digits in this electric shade!

Some of you may be familiar with holograms already—almost every driver’s license or ID has a holographic sticker on it.
