White Hot: Nailing It

Operations Coordinator, Loren, has a thing for nails—and we can’t blame her. We love reading about new finishes and fun techniques, so we thought we’d give her a slot on our blog to wax poetic about all things manicure (and pedicure!) related.

We’ve had our eye on the white polish trend since we first spotted the look at spring Fashion Week—and now that it’s finally warm enough to really embrace the bright hue, the color has completely blown up here in the Birchbox office.

While it might not necessarily be your go-to color, we love that white is such a versatile and classy summer shade. (It can really give an outfit extra pop!) I’ve rounded up three of my favorite white polishes to try if you’re feeling adventurous:

Ice Cream Nail Art: Birchbox Video of the Week

There are so many amazing videos on YouTube, we have a hard time keeping up with all of them. You name it, there’s a video about it. Wondering how to turn flat, limp strands into sexy supermodel hair? There’s a video for that. Always wanted to see what a moonwalking pony would look like? There’s a video for that. That’s why we’ve decided to choose one video a week to share with you. Keep reading for this week’s pick.

Nail art is a popular topic in our office, so when I came across this creative (and delicious-looking) sundae manicure I knew I had to share it. YouTube nail guru, cutepolish, breaks her tutorial into a few easy steps, and recommends using a nail dotting tool to create look of the chocolate sauce. If you don’t have one of those at home though, we found that the end of a bobby pin works just as well.
