Singer Demi Lovato just became the latest celebrity to go barefaced on the Internet and she looks absolutely stunning, freckles and all. On Wednesday, she tweeted the above photo out with the following message for her nearly 13 million followers: “Ladies, be brave today.. take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!! ❤” Immediately thousands of people replied with encouraging comments and over 66,000 people retweeted her original message and photo. Demi responded in kind by retweeting several other people’s makeup-free photos and complimented many more of them on their natural beauty.

90210 star AnnaLynne McCord is yet another starlet who has added her name to the list of Hollywood actresses going barefaced on the internet. The 25-year-old blonde bombshell tweeted her no-makeup look earlier this week, and I was totally shocked. While there have been a number of stars who shown off their makeup-free faces, Snooki and Olivia Wilde among them, McCord is the first one I’ve seen who’s been willing to do it with some visible blemishes in sight. A quick shout-out to the Girls in the Beauty Department over at Glamour. They scouted this picture of Olivia Wilde looking fresh-faced and oh-so-pretty at last week’s Tribeca Film Festival Awards. The star, who appears in the upcoming film Rush (due out in 2013), went makeup free to a night event—and we have to say we’ve got an even bigger girl crush on her now than we did before. We love a girl who can pull off both a glam red-carpet style and a cute, laidback look like this (sans makeup or hair product), at a shindig like the Tribeca Film Festival. It inspires us to try heading out for a night on the town without getting über-gussied up, too.

But we’re cutting through all the fat and finding out what the absolute essentials really are. We asked three staffers to tell us the items that they truly can’t leave the house without, and here are the must-have beauty products that they listed:
