I’m normally a proud lefty, but whenever I paint my nails, I wish I were among the few lucky ones who were born ambidextrous. This might seem like a strange wish, but I’ve never figured out how stop my non-dominant hand from shaking when I pick up the little brush that comes with every bottle of nail polish. (I know there are some much bigger problems in the world, but it’s still vexing!)
That’s why I’m seriously loving the brand new alessandro polishes that just landed in our shop. Originally from Germany, this brand is launching in the US as a Birchbox exclusive—as of yesterday!—and not a moment too soon. These luxe polishes all come with a specially designed brush that’s wider and flatter than the norm. I tested out the Dusty Purple shade today, and the brush definitely made it easier for me to paint my nails evenly. The formula also feels thinner than other polishes I’ve encountered in the past, which helped give me more control and prevented my nails from ending up as a goopy mess.

After six years of research, British brand Molton Brown has just released their Intelligent Skincare and Anti-ageing Bodycare Collection. The new capsule collection uses natural plant and mineral ingredients like antioxidant-rich malachite, exfoliating pink toronja grapefruit, and Polynesian kopara, which is a marine extract that maintains skin’s water balance and helps protect from pollution.

Top-notch designer Marc Jacobs, known for his feminine clothing designs and coveted handbags, is teaming up with Sephora to launch a cosmetics line. Jacobs, who already has fragrances like the soon-to-be-released Dot (slated for July), is in the planning stages for a set of color products.

Fun fact: Tatcha blotting papers were in the very first Birchbox, way back in September 2010. Katia, Hayley, and I were cray-cray for the handmade sheets, which are embedded with real gold leaf. We even shot a video of ourselves running around New York demonstrating the many uses of blotting papers (why this never went viral, we’ll never know). Since then, we’ve been waiting for the brand to launch a full-fledged skincare line. And it’s finally here.

At Cut25’s opening party for their first brick-and-mortar location in New York a few weeks ago, stila debuted a brand-new, exclusive set of palettes. The sets, which include eye shadows ($42), eye liners ($40), and lip glazes ($32), are available at the Soho shop. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on some—obsessed with the illustrations of stila girls sporting Cut25 Spring ‘12 designs on all the packaging!

Even if you don’t live in NYC you can still get your stila fix with our favorite of their products!

OK, they don’t have $1.99 album deals or groceries yet, but Beauty.com is adding a whole new element to its arsenal: Accessories. I had a chance to check out the new collection this morning and it’s a nice mix of necessities like Spanx and Cosabella (what, shapewear isn’t a necessity for you?) as well as well-priced jewelry, hair doodads, sunglasses, and more. The appeal is that if you’re already planning on stocking up on something from Beauty.com (or Drugstore.com for that matter), it’s that much easier to throw in a pair of Ray Bans or a Dogeared wish necklace. My picks? Jane Tran’s adorable bobby pins, Commando’s cute and comfy undies, and Foot Petals, a must for sky high heels.

Speaking of accessories, have you snagged a Birchbox Travel Pouch yet? They’re going fast!
