It makes me so happy that there are more luxurious options for those of us who want to clean up our beauty routine. Avoiding scary sounding chemicals no longer means you have to resort to giving up beautiful packaging or the latest and greatest technology in skincare. But don’t forget—natural beauty products don’t have to be pricy to be ridiculously effective. While I love my fancy serum as much as the next beauty blogger, these are my standbys that won’t break the bank:

1. Mulberries: Mulberries have become my latest snacking obsession. Filled with vitamins A and C, I noticed that my hair looks shinier and my nails are so much stronger after adding them into my snack repertoire. Mulberries are also a great source of resveratrol, which is known for fighting free radicals (amazing for anyone who wants added anti-aging benefits).

2. Hemp Protein Powder: I’m lactose and soy intolerant, so having whey or soy protein is a no-no for me. Luckily, hemp powder is a great plant-based protein alternative since it contains all nine essential amino acids. I usually add a scoop into my smoothies to turn them into an easy filling meal that keeps me energized for hours on end.

Given the never ending cold weather, I thought it would be the perfect time to give you a quick update about what I’ve been reaching for day in and day out this season. Moisturizer is my best friend in the winter and if I am not diligent about using it, my normally dry flaky skin can veer into blotchy hypersensitive skin.

Among my many beauty quests, one of the longest I’ve endured is my search for an effective natural deodorant. I’m not going to lie—when I used conventional deodorants, I was definitely more of an extra strength kind of gal. Also, I’m pretty active in my day-to-day life: I walk to and from work every day and my favorite workouts generally entail a ton of sweating. With that in mind, I thought switching to a deodorant without aluminum, an ingredient you really don’t want to absorb into your underarm region, was basically a lost cause. Every natural option I had ever tried left me super self-conscious by the end of the day and I’d find myself pressing my arms against my sides hoping that nobody would notice my slightly…earthy scent.

Smoothies? In the winter? Yes! While I love nothing more than a hearty bowl of soup when it’s cold, smoothies are a great way to sneak healthy ingredients into my diet. While I work very hard to eat my greens at each and every meal, sometimes I need a little help. This particular concoction is my favorite way to add in some extra vegetables and fruits. And it couldn’t be any easier!
