Depending on which box you got this month, you may have noticed a happy little headband from retro-chic site ModCloth tucked inside your delivery. As we mentioned yesterday, they’re currently guest editing a selection of road trip essentials in our Shop, which includes this fun ’50s-style accessory.
We must admit, upon first glance at this cutie-patootie piece, we were a little miffed. How exactly do you put it on? Well, it’s beyond simple, but rather than explain it to you (reading can be sooo boring), we thought we’d rather let the experts show you themselves. Click through for a video starring ModCloth’s creative stylist, Annie, as she demos not one, not two, not three, but amazingly four different ways to wear this fun and flattering headband.
We’re suckers for hair accessories, but not for the reason you might think. Sure, they help to elevate your look and they’re a cute addition to your ‘do, but we like them mainly because they make life easier (and bad hair days more manageable). Adding a fun hair accessory into the mix makes it appear like you’ve put in some effort, even though you really haven’t.
The simplest hair accessory of them all? The headband. We’re currently smitten with ban.do's classic silk satin ones. Not only do they come in a 'Happy Pack' (what a great name) of four varying shades, but they’re headache-free. Score a set for yourself when you spend $50 or more in the Birchbox Shop and use the code “bandohappypack” at checkout. Supplies are limited, so scope out the details here and get shopping. It’s a happy day, indeed!

Is it hot out or what? As temperatures continue to rise, good hair accessories become a must to have on hand. There is nothing worse than being caught outside in 90-degree weather (plus humidity) and not having an easy way to put your hair up or get it off your face. I actually walk to work everyday and now that it’s July, I don’t even think about wearing my hair down because it’s just too sweltering. While I have plenty of beige ponytail holders and blonde bobby pins lying around, I need to incorporate some more color into the mix. Here are a few of the bright doodads that have caught my eye and given how affordable they all are, I have no reason not to experiment.
