I love musing over audacious hairstyles that, at the end of the day, I’m just too wimpy to take the plunge and try. Since alter-ego day (pick your dream superhero or profession!) is coming up this week at Birchbox HQ, I’ve been filling my head with extreme hair dares. With my imagination running, I finally settled on a look I’d love to go through with if I had the courage: a full-on blonde dye job (I’m naturally dark brunette) with bold dark brows à la Madonna in the ’80s!

Last night I was flipping through the runway shots from the spring 2012 collections and I did a double take when I landed on Oscar de la Renta’s RTW line: holy frizz! Every woman was sporting a head full of extra crimped and volumized hair, and they looked absolutely gorgeous.

Suddenly I’ve become inspired to try and work with my frizz, too. While it can seem like one of our biggest hair enemies, I think it’s time to put down our guns (or hardcore hair oils), girls. Let’s embrace this voluminous look.

Summer vacations are about to kick-off and in less than a week, I’m boarding a cruise for a week-long tour through Mexico and the Caribbean! Obviously, I can’t help but muse over the hair products and accessories I’m going to pack to make sure I’ve got gorgeous hair from day one. 

Signing onto Free People’s blog, BLDG 25, yesterday, I stumbled over a sneak peek of their May catalog, which was shot in Miami. This is totally the look I’m going for.
