Whether you need an easy wedding updo or a pretty way to keep your hair up, this boho-chic hairstyle should do the trick. All it takes is three simple braids, some bobby pins, elastics, and of course, hairsprayAnd while it’s lovely on its own, don’t be afraid to twist it to your taste—you can add pretty hair clips or other embellishments to make it your own.

Easy Waterfall Braid Tutorial

You’ve mastered the French braid and aced the fishtail—It’s time to become a true braid maven and master the newest hair trend: the waterfall braid.  

We asked Davines stylist Christine Zilinski, to show us how to create this sweet look at home. It might take a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it you’ll be braiding up a storm.

Spring and summer events (read: weddings) always pose some hair conundrums for me. I want to look polished, but don’t have the time (or skill, frankly) to master some elaborate style. I’d rather be celebrating! That’s why I’m so in love with this new updo that Noelle Chen, stylist and SHU UEMURA Art of Hair Director of Education, showed editor Meredith and I a few weeks ago at the Dop Dop Salon in SoHo. The finished product looks like you’ve gotten your hair done professionally, but it takes less than ten minutes to achieve. If you can do a basic three-strand braid, you can do this. And if you’re so inclined, you can also add your own twist with fishtail braids, a four strand braid, etc. The the sky’s the limit. Watch below:
