The fifth season of “Gossip Girl” may have ended last week, but that doesn’t mean we’re any less eager to emulate the gorgeous makeup looks from the show. Luckily, a few weeks ago we tapped the show’s head makeup artist, Amy Tagliamonti, to show us a neutral cat-eye on actress Amanda Setton. It’s actually the same style Amanda’s character, Penelope, wore to Blair’s wedding earlier this season! Watch the video above to get the look.

This past Monday was much glitzier than usual, thanks to the “Gossip Girl” season five finale. To celebrate, we hosted viewing parties in New York and Los Angeles with bloggers, brand partners, and some special Birchbox members. At the NYC soiree, Kelly Rutherford (a.k.a. the ever-stylish Lily Van der Woodsen) joined us as did the show’s lead makeup artist, Amy Tagliamonti, and lead hairstylist, Jennifer Johnson.

If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in a job where cocktail tasting is a legitimate work activity, then you have a good job. Last week, I ventured to the Empire Hotel with editorial team members Rachel and Lorelei to test out the spot’s cheeky “Gossip Girl" cocktail menu in the lobby bar. If you’re not familiar with the connection between the two (and shame on you if that’s the case), the hotel plays a major role in the show’s plot line as the luxury establishment owned by charmingly conniving Chuck Bass. (Fun fact: many of the hotel scenes are actually shot on location.)
As you probably know, we’re extra excited for the upcoming season finale of “Gossip Girl.” In honor of the event next Monday night, last week we asked you to submit your favorite “Gossip Girl” look and how you’d recreate it. From Blair’s red pucker to Lily’s top knot—it’s hard not to be inspired by the show’s fashion and beauty stylings. Here are some of your favorite “Gossip Girl” looks:
Production of our special “Gossip Girl” Birchboxes is underway! We took a field trip to our warehouse to see how things were going and it was crazytown to see rows upon rows of sophisticated black boxes. Usually it’s a sea of bright pink, but in honor of our collaboration, we decided to amp up the drama. Very appropriate for “Gossip Girl,” no?
It’s the 3rd of May! You know what that means—we are officially in “Gossip Girl” Birchbox month! To celebrate, we’re devoting the first Birchblogger call of May to the show. We want to see your favorite GG looks and how you’d recreate them yourself!

I am soooo ready for Chuck and Blair to get together already! (Sorry Lonely Boy, you really aren’t Queen B’s match. The two of you don’t have any chemistry and you need a haircut.) I so loved season three where the diabolical duo were such a solid, scheming pair. It was that same season when Chuck had a major Harry Winston rock made for his UES princess, but of course, his proposal plans were thwarted—getting shot will do that, I guess.
