Currently Obsessing Over: Jeweled Headbands

Tasha ‘Timeless Chunky Chain’ Head Wrap, $38, nordstrom.com; Deep Gurnani Crystal Headband, $49, mytheresa.com; Faceted Beads Headband, $3.80, forever21.com

I’ve always loved Emily Schuman’s adorable blog Cupcakes and Cashmere. And while getting my daily dose recently, I saw this great post about jeweled headbands. “Since jewelry felt too constricting, I wore it in my hair,” she writes. Totally inspired, I decided to do a little more research on jeweled headbands and found some seriously cute options.

I really like this look because it’s totally acceptable for day, but also perfect for a night out. (Although personally, I don’t think I’d wear it across my forehead, but rather atop my head in the more traditional fashion.) Since I am determined to incorporate this style into my wardrobe, I already know that my plans this weekend will entail shopping for sparkly hair accessories.

Don’t Be A Hot Head…Or Do

Colorful Braided Headband, $3.80, forever21.com; Neon Hair Ties, $11.99, emi-jay.com; Heart Bobby Pin Set, $1.50, forever21.com; Hair Tie Ball, $3.50, forever21.com; Electric Safari Hair Pins, $8. sephora.com

Is it hot out or what? As temperatures continue to rise, good hair accessories become a must to have on hand. There is nothing worse than being caught outside in 90-degree weather (plus humidity) and not having an easy way to put your hair up or get it off your face. I actually walk to work everyday and now that it’s July, I don’t even think about wearing my hair down because it’s just too sweltering. While I have plenty of beige ponytail holders and blonde bobby pins lying around, I need to incorporate some more color into the mix. Here are a few of the bright doodads that have caught my eye and given how affordable they all are, I have no reason not to experiment.
