How to: Easy DIY Pedicure
We’re in the middle of a serious heat wave in New York (93 degrees today!) which means all week long we’ve been showing off our prettiest sandals, and of course, our feet. While we love having a professional pedi, this year we decided to cut our expenses by giving ourselves a salon-style nail treatment at home. We asked Gina Carney, the founder of RGB, for her tips on how to give ourselves a pro pedicure.
While painting my toes instantly beautifies my feet, walking around in the city has done quite a number on my poor arches and they need some extra TLC. I’ve been using this Gena Pedi Scrub Exfoliating Gel which makes my dry and tired soles feel like they’ve just gotten a spa treatment.

I Love fall (Love it with a capital L). The drapey sweaters, the candy corn, the crisp, fresh air! But, if there’s one thing that really irks me about the season it’s that fall is precisely when our poor toes start to play second fiddle to, well, everything. No more neon pink polish. No more strappy sandals to show off a fresh pedicures. No more caring. And, why should we? We just wind up stuffing our feet into super cute boots to hide any visible flaking or callousing. Then, when we see them again, the sight of our jagged toenails and dry cuticles just depresses us so we quickly slip them into our reindeer slippers.
But here’s my fall challenge to you (and myself): Make it all about your toes. Rock the bright polish, give yourself pedicures, and play with nail art. Here are some ideas from CND nail expert Candice Manacchio to making foot care fun in the fall.

The next time you find yourself limping along in a pair of six-inch stilettos, consider your options: you can either trade them for comfy flats…or you can hop into your local podiatric surgeon’s office and ask for a toe reshaping. You read that right. Good Morning America reports that a small number of people (mostly women) are electing to get plastic surgery to narrow their “fat toes.”
This past weekend, I returned to the beach for more fun in the surf an sun. On my last trip, I noticed that my post-beach routine was missing something to eliminate the salty residue and and dry skin I had as a result of spending a full day seaside. So, this time I packed my LATHER Bamboo Lemongrass Foaming Body Scrub and boy were my problems solved! At first, I was concerned that using a physical exfoliant might be too harsh after a full day at the beach. The LATHER scrub, however, almost immediately foams when you work it onto your skin with water. The granules quickly whisked away the salty film and grime and the alpha hydroxy acids worked to soothe and restore any damage done by the sun. Perhaps the biggest bonus though was that the lemony scrub really topped my beach day off nicely by turning my shower into a soothing aromatic experience—and really got me ready for the glass of wine and the amazing dinner that followed.
