So it’s no surprise that we can’t get enough of Lover.ly, a wedding inspiration site that lets you search through pics of swoon-worthy gowns, bouquets, and everything else you need for the big day. Once a week, the ladies behind Lover.ly will be sharing their best tips for getting through the craziness of the season—whether you’re standing at the altar or enjoying a view of it from the audience.

One of our favorite things about fall weddings? The food! (Oh, who are we kidding? That’s our favorite thing about most weddings.) Fall is the perfect opportunity to bring out seasonal savory dishes (we love the return of the soup course when temperatures drop!), along with sweet autumnal classics swirled with apple and pumpkin flavors. Here are our six must-have fall wedding foods:

1. Donuts

It’s official, fall is here. But if you’re feeling anything like me, you’re still busy soaking up the last bits of summer’s warmth. Jouer’s Perfect Red Collection, from left to right: Lana, Simone, Grace, Sophia, Ava. (As you can see, somebody loved Grace a lot.)

Even if I’d love to rock a gorgeous no-holds-barred bold lip everyday, the truth is that on a regular basis I love more natural looking makeup. I recently discovered Jouer, a brand that’s synonymous with crafting beautiful looks using eye-catching colors, while somehow keeping the overall feel very au naturale.

The coolest trick that I’ve learned from the brand lately? Well, for one: Everyone has a perfect red lip color that they can wear all the time (without feeling intimidated). And two: The secret to which red you should be choosing lies not in the makeup aisle, but in your closet. Jouer has created a smart system to help you identify your most flattering shade of crimson using their Perfect Red Collection as a guide. Here’s how it works:

A Better Way to Take Your Vitamins

Around the Birchbox office, we get as excited about new serums as most people get about, say, their birthdays or a brand-new Justin Bieber track. What can we say? We’re invested in keeping our complexions smooth and line-free for as long as possible.

In addition to loads of SPF, the best way to protect your skin against premature signs of aging is by applying a potent serum day and night. They act like targeted skin boosters, sinking deep under the surface of your skin to deliver high concentrations of actives. Really, it’s the equivalent of feeding your complexion a truckload of vitamins.

Lately, we’ve been using Vitivia's innovative vitamin treatments, which come in single-use capsules that make it easy to know exactly how much to apply. Each capsule contains a high dose of pure vitamin A or C, both of which have major anti-aging benefits.

Fall Haircare Tips from Frédéric Fekkai

We fell hard for Natalie Alcala last fall, when the LA-based writer and blogger spent a week guest blogging for us. In fact, we loved her posts so much that we asked her to be a contributing editor. In addition to blogging for us once a week, she’ll also be writing for the Birchbox Magazine and keeping us up to speed on all things fashion, beauty, and fun.

Celebrity hair guru Frédéric Fekkai is here in LA to prep for today’s Saks Fifth Avenue appearance at South Coast Plaza (3333 Bristol St), where he’ll be offering personalized one-on-one consultations. Because Birchbox fans deserve nothing but the best, I checked in with the iconic stylist to offer some exclusive on how to transition your hair care from summer to fall. Read on for his tips and, if you’re in LA, call 714-540-3233 x210 to secure your time with Fekkai!

1. Use a deep clarifying cleanser to rid your hair of summer build-up. “After months of exposure to beach sprays, sunscreen and chlorine, your hair may not feel as clean and nourished as you’d like. The build-up your hair has endured can diminish shine, movement, and touchable texture. Try using the new PrX Reparative Shampoo ($30) which helps remove build-up and impurities while nourishing and detangling each strand.”
