This year, I made a promise to myself: I would use more color in my makeup routine. I’ve been stuck in the neutral eye shadow phase for a long time because bold eye shadow can be intimidating.
Maybe you’re thinking the same thing. Don’t worry—I’m here to help you (and me). The first thing to remember is to have fun with it! Step out of your comfort zone and try something new. But also keep in mind: You’re not performing on stage, so makeup doesn’t need to be super bold.

Emma Stone, one of our favorite red-haired Hollywood starlets, has just lightened her locks from deep auburn to strawberry blonde. It can be tough to pull off such a bold, statement-making look (insider tip: if you’re considering red, it helps to have perfect skin), but The Amazing Spider-Man actress always makes every shade of crimson look effortless and gorgeous.
Emma’s been flipping through several hues of copper this year, and we can’t decide which color we’re most partial to—so we’re showing you three of our favorites! Which do you like best? Click through to vote in our poll and tell us how you feel about Emma’s red locks!

There were several standout beauty looks during last night’s Golden Globes, from Angelina’s perfect red lip to Emma Stone’s exquisite smoky eye. But as far as trends go, one thing’s for sure: headbands are having a moment.

I got really excited about the People’s Choice Awards last night. I wasn’t tuned in the whole time, but fortuitously I switched my TV on just as Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth were presenting Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries with best TV Drama Actress. After that high point, there was little else that could keep me tuned in…save for Emma Stone’s awesome outfit.

I don’t generally get excited when brands announce new celebrity spokespeople, mainly because everyone seems to have some hot star posing as their latest face. That said, when I saw Emma Stone’s and Olivia Wilde’s debut Revlon ads, I definitely took note.
We’re guilty of sticking with the same hair cut for years — if it’s not broke, why fix it? — but that can be a little boring. But not everyone has our issue. Paulina, one of our amazing operations associates, is always eyeing new cuts and styles. She’ll be sharing her tress inspiration and tips every other week. First hair obsession: Bangs!

I am constantly on the mission to stay mane-tamed and keep bad hair days at bay. Still, I have always been a risk-taker. A year ago, I chopped my hair. Now, after a year, I’m channeling Heidi Klum and Camilla Bell with a short bob. While I love it, I still can’t help feeling hair envy whenever I get news of a hair makeover. From cuts to colors, Keratin treatments to fishtail braids — I want to be the one to try it all! Since I can’t chop or treat my hair anytime soon, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite styles with you and doling out special tips and product recommendations. Find out my obsession after the jump!

Yup. It’s official. I have a major style crush on Emma Stone. The starlet has recently stepped out in one amazing look after the next, and at last night’s The Help premiere in Los Angeles, she stunned yet again. Wearing an incredibly beautiful and sophisticated Chanel couture top and skirt, my adoration for the actress’ ensemble doesn’t stop there. Her almond-toe nude pumps, her delicate antique-y chain bag, her dangly earrings—it was all just perfect. What’s particularly fantastic about her look is that the Roaring ’20s feel extends to her hair and makeup, too. Her intricate yet slightly messy ‘do is elegant without being uptight and her makeup is incredibly feminine without being overpowering. Bravo yet again, Emma. Bravo.

I have never been one to abide by color rules (I love wearing black with navy, green with yellow, and so on), but I hadn’t given much thought to pairing pink with red until I saw Emma Stone’s recent red carpet look. At the Friends With Benefits premiere in New York City last week, the starlet stepped out in a color-blocked Giambattista Valli dress that has me scouring my closet and beauty drawer for all things tomato and fuchsia. I am going to go ahead and call this the new hot color combo of the summer—and I’ve found a few things that you can buy to help you partake in this new trend.

MTV predicted that bright eyes and neon lips would draw all the attention at last night’s Movie Awards. Fast forward a day later, and what we can’t stop buzzing about is the surfeit of hot hair looks the stars donned this year (not the mention all of the eye-catching sparkly dresses). Check out some of our favorites, and then vote on which one you like best!

Amber Lancaster of The Hard Times of RJ Berger wore loose lovely waves to compliment her bombshell appearance, we can see why she’s such a hot commodity on the show.
Youthful starlet Selena Gomez opted for a half-up half-down look complete with loose waves and even—dare we say it—hair extensions.

Reese Witherspoon looked impeccable with her bright blonde locks and beachy waves.
Emma Watson’s sophisticated pixie was the perfect compliment to her pretty beaded dress.

Thank goodness! Emma Stone can seemingly rock any look, but we’re glad to have her back as the fierce redhead that we’ve known and loved since her Superbad days.
From the color to the romantic long and loose style, Lily Collins’ auburn mane has us wanting to whip out a curling iron stat.

It’s always fun to see celebs go overboard for the annual Met Gala. I love all the glamour and drama — it’s an irresistible combo. This year was no exception, with many a famous face going far beyond overboard and into the realm of just plain old bad. (I refuse to name names, and since everyone has seen the pictures by now, much of it goes without saying.) Instead, I’d rather focus on the good, and the truly stellar. There were several stars that fit that bill last night. Below are my favorite hair and makeup looks from the event — who do you think were the true standouts?

Best Long and Loose: Blake Lively and Gwyneth Paltrow both wore their hair down last night in soft, cascading waves. Everything from the shine to the soft curls to the long layers is captivating and enviable. Forget Goop and Gossip Girl, these two leading ladies should start a haircare line. It would sell through the roof.

Best Use of Color: Makeup is meant to be fun, so it’s great to see actresses experimenting vibrant colors. Ginnifer Goodwin single-handedly has me rethinking blue shadow—her eyes look incredible!—and Emma Stone reaffirms my obsession with fuchsia lipstick.

Best Updos: Updos on a major red carpet are a dime a dozen, but Ashley Greene and Amy Adams really stood out. Greene’s low-slung side bun is incredibly elegant and Adams’ forehead-skimming braid has me itching to experiment with romantic plaits.

Best Hollywood Retro Look: Leave it to A-lister Diane Kruger to perfectly pull-off Old Hollywood Glamour, from her sculpted tendrils to her bright red pucker. Up-and-comer Emma Roberts also sported the same retro hair, but chose to pair it with more natural makeup for a younger, sweeter look.

Best Short Hair: Brooklyn Decker’s lob (a.k.a. long bob) has been a recent obsession of mine, and could she have picked a better dress to highlight her new cut? (The answer, in case you were wondering, is no.) Even though Decker is still my hair crush of the moment, I give major props to Michelle Williams who yet again rocked a super-pretty pixie—that style soooo does not work on everyone.
