Whether you’re looking for celebrity gossip, the best product for frizzy hair, or advice on what to wear to your cousin’s wedding, the gals at Lovelyish have got you covered. This week, a handful of the site’s staffers—Katie Kubiak, Annie Strole, and Allison Wheeler—are bringing their expertise to our blog in a series of five beauty and style how-tos.

As I get older, I grow more and more disappointed by the term beauty sleep. Sure, my dark circles aren’t as bad when I’m getting eight hours every night, but something about that phrase seems to imply that you’ll awaken with lustrous locks and glowing skin.
As with everything in life, when you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself. So if you really want to get real beauty sleep, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands!
We fell hard for Natalie Alcala last fall, when the LA-based writer and blogger spent a week guest blogging for us. In fact, we loved her posts so much that we asked her to be a contributing editor. In addition to blogging for us once a week, she’ll also be writing for the Birchbox Magazine and keeping us up to speed on all things fashion, beauty, and fun.
Spring officially starts next week! Besides cleaning out my closet to make room for brighter hues and lighter fabrics, it’s time to reevaluate my beauty sitch. While I can never resist a red lip, this might be the perfect time to get adventurous and experiment with new hues. With that said, here’s a roundup of four additional spring campaigns that shine a light on perfect pouts.

Rouge: Okay, this one isn’t exactly “adventurous” as it’s still a red lip, but this story really wouldn’t be complete without a Cara Delevingne cameo. Polish fashion label, Reserved, was inspired by ’80s and ’90s beauty for this campaign, hence the Robert Palmer pucker. Make’s Silk Cream Lipstick and this handy how-to are all you need to channel the look.
It’s here! March Birchboxes are shipping out soon, and that means we’ve got another sneak peek video for you. This month, we’re talking March Madness—but in our world, that means much more than college basketball brackets. We’re planning tons of fun Birchbox matchups that pit our favorite styles and looks against each other. Find out which key players got coveted slots in our starting lineups, then comment on YouTube for a chance to win the products featured this month.
Find out more about March’s standouts, including Serge Normant Meta Revive Dry Shampoo and Incoco Nail Polish Appliques on the Birchbox YouTube channel.

Are you as in love with Hayley’s hairstyle as we are? Find out how she created her princess roll with this handy tutorial.
At a recent pre-Oscars party, Zero Dark Thirty star Jessica Chastain rocked a subtle but oh-so-chic combo of pretty pink lips, matte skin, and impeccable liner. Here’s how to recreate her look:
Step 1: You won’t find a lick of shine on Jessica’s flawless face. Before applying your go-to complexion perfectors, start with a mattifying moisturizer like this one from Benta Berry to get a totally even canvas.
Step 2: Add pale peachy blush to the apples of your cheeks. Opt for powder that you can use to build up the color like Benefit’s Coralista shade.
Step 3: Draw attention to your eyes by lining your upper lash line with an inky liner like this one from stila. No matter your skill level, you can achieve the perfect line with these troubleshooting tips. Follow with a few coats of mascara.
Step 4: Now for the fun part—your lips! Grab a long-lasting, vibrant pink (we’re currently obsessed with Elizabeth Arden’s Blush Lipstick) and follow these easy application tips.
Step 5: Complete the look by adding a deep side part to your hair and smooth away any frizz with a nourishing hair serum like this one from Amika.

Earlier this week, we teamed up with JolieBox to bring an American-themed mobile beauty bar to Paris! The event was a smash hit, with Elizabeth Arden giving makeup touchups and and Color Club offering manicures as editors and bloggers mingled over delicious American snacks. Co-founder Katia was on-site in Paris to oversee and take part in the fun—and needless to say, we totes wish we were there too.

You don’t need to be in Paris to participate in fun Birchbox/JolieBox events! This week, we shot a video in SoHo featuring some of our subscribers.

Yesterday we teamed up with our Parisian counterparts to bring a little fun to the City of Lights with a own vintage-inspired Airstream. The American-themed trailer was a mobile beauty bar, with treatments by Elizabeth Arden and Color Club and plenty of hometown treats (Oreos, M&Ms, New York bagels). Editors and bloggers stopped by during the day and at night the Airstream hosted a customer event with plenty of pampering and swag.
