We’re guilty of sticking with the same hair cut for years—if it’s not broke, why fix it?— but that can be a little boring. But not everyone has our issue. Paulina, one of our amazing operations associates, is always eyeing new cuts and styles. She’ll be sharing her tress inspiration and tips every other week.
About a week ago, I was pumping through a workout through the awesome tutorials at ToneItUp. In the midst of a thigh-burning lunge, I was suddenly struck by hair envy. Has anyone else noticed how Katrina’s hair is out of this world?
This babe has some of the most admirable beachy waves I’ve ever seen—there doesn’t appear to be a frizzy in sight. I was so intrigued I dropped the weights and immediately began looking up how to mimic Katrina’s hair instead of her equally enviable abs.
In the course of my research, I discovered that the source of frizz may all boil down to our bath towels and the oh-so cute turbans I make to dry my strands after showering.
As it turns out, the fibers in most bath towels can leave hair frizzy after all that rubbing and twisting to rid it of excess water. The weight of a towel turban will also pull on the roots, which tends to promote breakage. All things I don’t opt-in for.
So instead, I’ve been taking a tip from Katrina at ToneItUp.com. You can try it too—all you need is a plain white cotton t-shirt. Surprise—you even get to keep the turban!
