Drew Barrymore’s Beauty Quick Fix For a Hangover & More From Lucky FABB

We fell hard for Natalie Alcala two years ago, when the LA-based writer and blogger spent a week guest blogging for us. In fact, we loved her posts so much that we asked her to be a contributing editor. In addition to blogging for us once a week, she’ll also be writing for the Birchbox Magazine and keeping us up to speed on all things fashion, beauty, and fun.

Drew Barrymore is Hollywood’s original manic pixie dream girl. From nailing classic rebel roles in films like Mad Love to defining quintessential ’90s style before it was a thing (I could scan this blog all day), the actress is in a league of her own. Which is why I was over the moon when I heard she was speaking at this year’s Lucky FABB conference in LA.

Drew Barrymore recently stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to chat about her beauty line and life as a new mom—but we were too busy ogling Ms. Barrymore’s adorable spring look (for an up close view, check out the video below) to hear everything she was saying. The actress sported an adorable weekend look combo of pretty pink lips, bouncy waves fastened in a high ponytail, and fetching foral-print jeans. Here’s how to recreate her look just in time for Saturday brunch:

Step 1: You won’t find a single blemish on Drew’s flawless complexion. Before applying your go-to complexion perfectors, prep your skin with a mattifier like MAKE’s Face Primer SPF 30

Drew Barrymore’s New Beauty Line is Bringing Back the ’90s

Drew Barrymore has debuted a new beauty line. (Photo: Into the Gloss)

I’ll always remember when I first became a Drew Barrymore fan: it was 1998, and the free-spirited actress pranced down the red carpet with daisies in her hair. It seems fitting, then, that Flower is the name of her new beauty line, which just launched in Walmart stores nationwide and online. The full collection features a whopping 181 products, and it seeks to fill a gap in the beauty market: luxe formulas and packaging that are available at drugstore prices (most items are less than $10).

As Drew recently explained to Into The Gloss, the brand won’t embark on a major advertising campaign—instead, it will invest in product creation. Catch a glimpse of Drew’s new line after the jump, and learn about the decade that inspired her!

The Dip Dye Trend Shows No Signs of Dying

This past weekend, I saw some pictures of Sienna Miller’s peachy-pink tips. She’s now the fourth celeb I’ve seen rocking dip dye hair, which got me thinking that this trend has some staying power. But how exactly do you get this exaggerated look?

Dip dye pioneer Lauren Conrad used six items to get the style: hair bleach, developer, gloves, brush, foil, and dye. You divide your hair into sections and apply a mix of the hair bleach and the developer to the ends of your locks. Cover each section in the foil and heat the ends with a blow dryer. After rinsing, you pick your fave color and apply generous amounts of dye. Wrap it in a plastic bag, blow dry again, and let your hair cool for five minutes. Once you rinse the ends, you could very well be mistaken for a celebrity.

The Red Carpet Just Got a Little More…RED!

Photos: Beauty High

There must be something in the water in Hollywood: yet another starlet has decided to make the switch from blonde to red. Scarlett Johansson attended the White House Correspondent’s Dinner over the weekend sporting a lovely shade of crimson. This makes her the third, by our count, to jump onto the redhead bandwagon (right behind Blake Lively and Drew Barrymore). Since nobody likes a copycat, all three ladies have taken the auburn trend in different directions and made this color their own.

Ruby Red: Very appropriate given that her first name is Scarlett, the actress chose a striking and dramatic shade, with a hint of plum. This is a hard hue to pull off, and we’re thoroughly impressed with her act of hair rebellion.

Strawberry: Blake Lively’s light and airy interpretation channels The Little Mermaid but perfectly suits her fair skin and soft features.

Burgundy: Certainly a trendsetter when it comes to hair (Barrymore was one of the first to adopt the ombre look, too), Drew went with an auburn hue, accentuating her light green eyes and naturally rosy cheeks.
