3 Unexpected Eyeliner Colors for Day and Night: Guest Blogger

We love surfing Heather Walczuk’s blog, Beauty Unbiased, for her smart and on-point makeup reviews, pretty photos and her upbeat insight. The resident New Yorker always has great tips for making the most out of your products, which is why we’re excited that this week she’s sharing tips about her fave summer finds, makeup-artists must-haves, and how to get a gorgeous top knot.

I love beauty and fashion that’s outside the mainstream box, but seeing a runway look in pictures is a whole different thing than actually wearing it. My personal style tends to be more conservative, but in a concerted effort to be more exciting, I’ve been trying out eyeliners in different colors with surprisingly positive results. Give that Black Eyeliner a Rest

After watching the Golden Globes last night, we can’t help but get inspired to shake up our usual Monday routine (tinted moisturizer, NARS Multiple, mascara). Earlier this year we asked Stila’s pro makeup artist Sarah Lucero to give us ideas on how to quickly take makeup from ho-hum daytime to rah rah nighttime. She had some amazing tips and totally got us geeking out about highlighter. (Check out her suggestions here). One of our favorites: swap out your black eyeliner for a rich-colored kohl liner. She suggested trying Stila’s kajal liners in Tiger’s Eye, a warm bronze, or Sapphire, a dark navy. Both are subtle enough to wear during the day and give you a prettily modern look - just the pick-me-up we need during drab winter months. Plus, the pencils are dead-simple to use - it literally takes 30 seconds to smudge on and you look instantly polished. Give it a try!
