Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel at Time’s 100 most influential people gala earlier this week.
Like most worker bees, my 9 AM office routine follows a fairly familiar pattern. Trudge zombie-like towards coffee, browse my inbox for 10 minutes, then head to a gossip site to catch up on some celeb happenings. (Especially here, beauty news is important!)
This morning, I found myself swooning over a photo of America’s favorite newlyweds: the Timberlakes. While we don’t all have red-carpet galas to attend, these looks are still perfect for a night out on the town or a formal summer wedding. The former Ms. Biel looked radiant with bronze smoky eyes and a Bridgette Bardot-esque ‘do, and her beau looked particularly dashing in his updated 20/20 Experience look—we love the side-swept hair and fitted tuxedo. Whether you’re heading to a sophisticated fête or just a dinner with friends, follow these grooming tips to snag this A-list couple’s style.
Gwyneth Paltrow is the poster girl for wholesome and holistic approaches to food, skincare, fitness—well, just about everything. So imagine our surprise to find out that in the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the celeb reveals that she’s tried Botox—and that she regrets doing it.
Singer Demi Lovato just became the latest celebrity to go barefaced on the Internet and she looks absolutely stunning, freckles and all. On Wednesday, she tweeted the above photo out with the following message for her nearly 13 million followers: “Ladies, be brave today.. take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!! ❤” Immediately thousands of people replied with encouraging comments and over 66,000 people retweeted her original message and photo. Demi responded in kind by retweeting several other people’s makeup-free photos and complimented many more of them on their natural beauty.
Spring is finally here! The gorgeous warmer weather always brings on a serious desire to change your look—and Sophia Vergara is leading the charge with her jaw-dropping new hue.
Gwyneth Paltrow and her trainer Tracy Anderson
Actress-turned-singer-turned-lifestyle blogger (we love goop!) Gwyneth Paltrow is adding yet another enterprise to her successful and varied empire: hair. Next month, Paltrow is set to open a new blow dry bar in Los Angeles, a joint venture between her, her longtime personal trainer Tracy Anderson, and celebrity stylist David Babaii. The salon will be named the David Babaii Blow Dry Bar and will be located near Anderson’s new fitness studio in Brentwood, which is set to open April 4th.
Paltrow’s announcement comes shortly after the success of fellow celeb Rachel Zoe’s popular DreamDry in New York, which booked 1,000 (!) appointments in the first week.
Do any of you get blowouts? Would you visit her salon?
One of our favorite recipes from the editors of goop is this to-die-for smoothie. Watch how to make it here!

Drew Barrymore recently stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to chat about her beauty line and life as a new mom—but we were too busy ogling Ms. Barrymore’s adorable spring look (for an up close view, check out the video below) to hear everything she was saying. The actress sported an adorable weekend look combo of pretty pink lips, bouncy waves fastened in a high ponytail, and fetching foral-print jeans. Here’s how to recreate her look just in time for Saturday brunch:
Step 1: You won’t find a single blemish on Drew’s flawless complexion. Before applying your go-to complexion perfectors, prep your skin with a mattifier like MAKE’s Face Primer SPF 30.
Anne Hathaway flashes a gorgeous smile at the SAG Awards. (Photo: Getty)
When the SAG Awards aired this past Sunday night, we were so busy staring at Anne Hathaway’s intricate butterfly nail art that we almost forgot to check out her makeup. But as the picture above can attest, it warrants a second look. The Les Miserables star rocked a subtle but oh-so-pretty duo of bold, sweeping brows and matte lipstick. We love that she opted for a rosy pink-red lipstick instead of a bright crimson shade—or a dark lip à la Claire Danes—since it kept the look red-carpet-ready but still accessible. Click through to learn how we’d recreate Anne’s makeup step-by-step.
We fell hard for Natalie Alcala last fall, when the LA-based writer and blogger spent a week guest blogging for us. In fact, we loved her posts so much that we asked her to be a contributing editor. In addition to blogging for us once a week, she’ll also be writing for the Birchbox Magazine and keeping us up to speed on all things fashion, beauty, and fun.
Were you surprised by the 2013 Oscar nominations? Save for a few upsets (how is Ben Affleck not nominated for Best Director?), I was pretty pleased with this list, especially since a handful of my beauty muses are in the mix. To celebrate this year’s leading ladies, here’s a roundup of their best red carpet looks of all time.
