We’ve got plenty of personalities on the Birchbox staff, but Rachel L. may top them all. Today, the fab brand team manager rolled into the office with perfectly filled in, shaded brows and announced, “Bold brows for a bold day!” We agree. She used her trusty Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil to get the look.
Watch our brow pencil video tutorial to learn how to shape your brows like a pro.

When we launched Birchbox in September 2010, we weren’t really thinking about the boys in our lives. We created the service to help women discover new products (and have fun in the process). But we quickly found that men wanted access to products too—super cool grooming and lifestyle ones, of course. Our members told us stories about their boyfriends and husbands getting jealous of their monthly Birchbox deliveries, or of their sheepish male coworkers who came over to ask for SPF advice. After the breakout success of our limited edition box for men it was clear that men wanted in on the fun too.
We’re thrilled to announce Birchbox Man, our new monthly subscription. For $20/month, men can receive grooming and lifestyle products that span a range of categories. Expect everything from high-end cleansers and life-changing aftershave balm to spiffy accessories. Why the price difference? The box is bigger, with trial sizes as well as lifestyle products that aren’t samples at all (think t-shirts, socks, watches, etc.).
Just like the original Birchbox for women, we have a team of editors working to source the top products and write awesome original content. To learn more about the philosophy behind the service, read the Birchbox Man-ifesto (yes, our guys like their puns). We also have an exciting Shop filled with bump-fighting shave cream to hip socks and a Guide packed with crucial guy info (ie: how to properly cuff your pants).
Sign up or gift now to reserve the inaugural box, shipping by April 25th. Follow Birchbox Man on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

We’ve started production on our April Birchboxes! We know you’re as excited as we are so we snapped this pic at our warehouse. These are the “dumplings” (what we at Birchbox affectionally call the tissue-wrapped samples) that will be inside your monthly delivery.
Who’s stoked to get their box?

Last night, Birchboxers stormed Dermalogica’s flagship store in Soho for an invite-only skincare event for our NYC subscribers. Between sipping on wine and snacking on gourmet cheeses, our lovely members had the chance to mingle with Birchbox staffers and see Dermalogica’s expert skin therapists for free consultations and treatments. Click through for our favorite pics of the jam-packed event!

South by Southwest Interactive kicks off today and a group of Birchboxers are headed down to Austin to take in the panels, parties, and, of course, the barbecue. If you’re going to be there, be sure to follow @birchbox—we’ve got some fun tricks up our sleeves. You can also come find us at Made in NY’s Sunday night bash and at GroupMe and Serve’s Major Rager Monday night, where we’ll be taking over the bathrooms with product samples. Beyond stretchy pants and our Birchbox tees, here’s what we’re bringing down with us.

If yesterday’s gorgeous weather here in New York was any indication, winter has decided to give us a break and let spring roll in a little early. No complaints here. After seeing Chantecaille’s latest collection, I’m more than ready for the seasonal shift—and their new launches will be factoring prominently in my spring makeup lineup.
It’s day three of our Zoya + Birchbox Custom Polish Sweepstakes! If you missed it, here’s a refresher: We’ve asked some of our favorite bloggers to create mood boards that depict the shades they think should be made into a Zoya polish color for spring/summer. Now it’s up to you to vote on your favorite board! The board with the most votes will inspire a custom collection by Zoya that will be debut in Birchbox Shop in April. By voting, you enter yourself to win the entire custom collection! Head on over to Birchbox’s Facebook page and vote to enter to win!

We’re trusting you to share your experiences with Zagat about the stores you’ve visited in NYC: from blue jeans and jewelry to cheese and chocolate. And we know shopping can be hard work, which is why we’ve teamed up to give you a $2,000 shopping spree and a free year’s subscription to Birchbox! Get contest deets after the jump!
How do you get such an awesome reward, you ask? Easy—just vote in Zagat’s New York City Shopping Survey by rating and reviewing the retail and gourmet food shops you’ve visited in the past year. By completing the survey, you’ll also be eligible to receive a free copy of the New York City Shopping Survey or New York City Food Lover’s Guide when they are published later this year.
How to enter the contest:
1. Fill out the registration form here by February 20th: http://zagat.bz/wS9yDZ You must complete the registration before any of your survey responses are eligible in this contest.
2. Go to http://zagat.bz/zWK6Sr to view and vote on a retail or gourmet food shop to be included in the NYC Shopping Survey. Tell Zagat about their quality, display, service and estimated cost. Each quality review you write will be judged as a new entry. We’ll go through all the reviews you write during the contest period and give them points.
If you’re wondering what we’re looking for in a quality review, here are a few things to consider:
a. Originality – how creative or original is your review style?
b. Capturing the spirit of the place – how well do you describe the atmosphere?
c. Unique viewpoints – do you offer a unique point of view?
d. Writing style – how well written is your review?
The six entrants with the highest number of points will win:
Grand Prize: (1 winner) $2,000 Shopping Spree at a Zagat Rated Shop and a one year subscription to Birchbox—a $2,110 total value.
Second Prize (5 winners): A one year subscription to Birchbox ($110 value).
Note: You must be 21 to enter. To read the full official rules, click here http://zagat.bz/zumxvE. To find out what Zagat and Google are up to in NYC next, follow them on Twitter at @ZagatNYC and @GoogleNYC.
We’re lucky to have a pretty extraordinary tech team. Not only are they computer geniuses, but they’re also incredibly cool. How often do you find a group of developers who are also ultra marathoners, solo outdoorsmen, and former cheerleaders? We rest our case. The lastest addition to the tech team, Becky, is no different. Find out why this Southern belle is so awesome.

Fun fact: I’m obsessed with animals. I would totally be a crazy dog or cat lady if my boyfriend would let me get away with it. We’ve topped out at two (one dog, one cat) and he’s put his foot down on any more—not for my lack of trying, negotiating, and begging.
Beauty confession: I tried cutting my own bangs last year and ended up wearing them in a barrette for the next six months. Just because a YouTube video makes it look easy doesn’t mean you should try it (especially not after drinking).
Currently loving: Miracle Skin Transformer Treat And Conceal Eye and Face concealer. It arrived in my Birchbox for January and it’s the best concealer I’ve ever used. I will definitely be buying the full-size product once the sample runs out. Plus Ted Gibson Captivating Copper Shampoo and Condition—it keeps my red hair looking brillant.
Worth the splurge: Laser hair removal (a total time saver!).
Best beauty trick? Noxema wipes are my best friend. I carry them in my bag for use any time I’m sweaty or dirty, am too tired to correctly wash my face, or just need to clean up. They’re also ideal for long flights because they moisturize as well as cleanse. And being a germaphobe I use them to clean my armrest and tray table as well. Plus they’re economical.
