Meet Brad, our sartorially savvy Vice President of Birchbox Man. Before joining the team, he had a varied career in tech and worked at places such as Accenture, Yahoo!, Olivia, mPowered Solutions, and Lookbooks Media. To match his dapper appearance, the man also has quite a sense of humor. So happy to have you with us, Brad!
Brad Lande, VP of Birchbox Man
Hometown: I grew up in Portland, Oregon but spent most of my recent life in San Francisco with intermissions in London, Florence, and Australia.
Unofficial role: Therapeutic Cocktail Specialist and Good Karma Master. I’m especially passionate about finding ways Birchbox can give back to the world through socially conscious initiatives.
Fun Fact: I traded in my cowboy boots for Lanvin sneakers. I grew up riding horses and was a highly competitive National Cutting Horse Champion. Don’t know what cutting horses do? Of course you don’t. Here’s a helpful video.
Beauty/Grooming confession: I think I was twelve or thirteen years old when I got my first subscription to GQ.
Currently loving: It’s top Secret. (Hint: Keep an eye on the Men’s store in the coming months for new brands on my radar). Also, everything on my personal Tumblr.
Worth the splurge: Cocktail tumblers. Tequilla on the rocks with a squeeze of fresh grapefruit, not included.
Best beauty/grooming trick: Self discovery. Knowing who you are is ultimate beauty.
Curious about the rest of our team? Meet more Birchbox staffers here!
This North Carolina native joins our campaign strategy team after graduating with a dual-degree in journalism and communications from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (such a smartie!). We have a Birchbox crush on Kelsey since not only does she love makeup—she has great tips from her sister who’s a makeup artist—she’s also obsessed with cheesecake. Yum. Here’s to you, Kelsey!
Kelsey Rozier, Brand Campaign Strategy Associate

Fun fact: I won my 6th grade Boggle tournament. Challenge me to a game of Scramble with Friends to see my skills for yourself.
Coming from a paralegal background at Weil, Gotshal, & Manges, this native Jersey girl is absolutely thrilled to join our world of nail polish and hairspray. Not only are her makeup and jewelry wardrobes to die for, but her obsession with chocolate-covered gummy bears ensures us that she’s a perfect fit for the Birchbox team. We’re so excited to be working with you, Dana!
Dana Aidekman, Merchandising & Marketing Associate
Hometown: Madison, NJ
Describe your work: I get to spend each day discovering amazing brands to share with our subscribers!
The members of the Birchbox Operations team (who you chat with by phone and email!) are some the friendliest, most upbeat staffers in the office. Operations Associate Madison is no exception to the rule. Not only can this Virginian sweetheart seriously rock a bright pink smile (see the picture below), she’s also earned some serious geek and pop-culture cred—Madison listens to the Game of Thrones books on her way to work. We’re so happy to have her!
Madison Amburn, Operations Associate
Hometown: Richmond, Virginia
Unofficial role: Candy and Snack Hoarder
Fun fact: I love plants, especially cactus. I have over 20 cacti plants in my house!
You might recall the Birchbox Intern Diaries with former editorial intern Charisse. Now our summer interns Julia, Katrina, and Geraldine are heroically taking over the series (though without a camera). Every Thursday, they’ll be sharing their discoveries from around the Birchbox office. Today, they’re checking out what’s in BB staffers’ personal handbags.
Since we started interning at Birchbox, we confess to feeling a bit awestruck by our stylish fellow staffers. And what better way to get a glimpse into their glamorous lives than to sneak a peek at the contents of their purses? These three staffers have the most lust-worthy bags we’ve seen yet—and some interesting stories to boot.
My purse is limited edition red Balenciaga with rose gold hardware, and my wallet is from one of my favorite French Moroccan-inspired brands, Manoush—I’m even wearing a necklace from their Paris store right now! I’ve had these Celine sunglasses for about 6 months (pre-Amanda Bynes). I go to SoulCycle about 3 times a week and I love the headband because it doesn’t leave a crease—which means that I can just spray some dry shampoo (Klorane is my favorite) and go. I can never have enough lip products. This pouch is just a fraction of my collection. Right now, I love Jouer’s SPF 15 Lip Sheer in “Maui”—it’s the perfect sheer nude pink to go with my faux tan.
—Rachel Liverman, Director of Beauty Partnerships
This Tory Burch purse goes with practically everything I own. I always have this poker chip from the Bellagio everywhere I go because it brings good luck. Tatcha Blotting Papers are great when I need to refresh my face after a long day. And the Stila One Step Bronze is perfect when I need a little color. You can just throw it on at before meeting friends for dinner. I also keep a pair of earrings—because you never know when you’ll need a sparkly touch to your outfit. I wear the Jawbone Up, which tracks how active I am during the day and how well I’m sleeping at night.
—Dana Aidekman, Merchandising & Marketing Associate
This Louis Vuitton purse has been with me since 2005. Flats are always a must-carry because it’s NYC and you walk a lot. I always have tons of lip products in my bag, but I switch them out according to my mood. Today it’s peachy corals; other times it’s nudes and neutrals. The Laqa Pinkman and Mirenesse Flirty Kiss are from my pinky, red phase last week. Brows are my beauty focal point, so I keep this travel sized IT Cosmetics brow pencil on me for touch ups. My hairstylist taught me this little trick: If your hair has lost its curl, roll it up and pin it in a place. Take it out and voila! Captain Blankenship sea salt spray gives my hair a bit more texture. Wow, that’s actually a lot of stuff.
—Ashley Alston, Merchandising & Marketing Manager
And now over to you: What’s in your purse?
—Geraldine, Katrina, & Julia

Oh, prom. Not so long ago, many a Birchbox staffer went all out for that big night, and of course we took tons of photos to commemorate the epic event. In honor of prom season, we knew we had to share these pictures with you—even if we’re cringing (or laughing) at the choices our younger selves made. The hair! Those dresses! That glittery eyeshadow… Read on for a peek at some of our, err, favorite memories from high school.
Meredith Stebbins, Editor and Senior Manager, Traffic & Trends
"This feels like a lifetime ago! Thankfully I went for classic hair and makeup, so I don’t have any regrets about that. And, in fact, I still have this dress. It’s a deep navy raw silk Ralph Lauren gown with a bright emerald lining. I’ll never wear it again, but I love it too much to give it away.”
Before making the leap into the startup world, Curt worked as a software and web developer for lifestyle titles like Health.com and Real Simple. Curt loves everything about the Birchbox office—the people, the bright space, and the brisk one mile walk to and from his apartment. Well Curt, we love having you too! Fun fact: I’ve had a beard since October 2001.
She’s the first person you see when you walk into Birchbox, she picks out all our tasty snacks, she keeps us neat and organized—she’s our People & Culture Associate Leah Colman! Born and raised in North Carolina, Leah is a die hard Tar Heel and treats us all to her Southern hospitality. She loves all Birchboxers and loves putting together our awesome team events (hello, group SoulCycle class), and finding us kickbutt perks like much-loved discounts and memberships. Unofficial role: Keeper of the Candy (I have about 500 Dum Dum’s in my desk—no joke.)
Fun fact: I have the smallest feet ever. Seriously, I wear a 4.5 in Women’s. I also was a dancer for about 18 years and traveled to Russia twice for dance competitions.
Amanda made quite the first impression before starting at Birchbox. When applying for her position as our Brand Campaign Strategy Associate, she pulled an Elle Woods and sprayed her résumé with Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy. It was a bit of a risk, but it looks like the trick worked for this FIT graduate! Outside of the office, Amanda is a major Martha Stewart-wannabe. She loves to up-cycle vintage furniture and has an extensive candle collection that she confesses may be a slight problem. Read on to find out more about Amanda!
Amanda Swanson, Brand Campaign Strategy Associate

But there is more to Lucy than just sales. Outside the office, she loves to bake, travel, and is an avid photographer and writer. She also has a penchant for presidential trivia, BBC’s Sherlock, and The Beach Boys. Not to mention, she makes a fantastic model as you can see below!
