Last week, we got together with Birchbox skincare favorite Caudalie to celebrate the launch of their new tinted body lotion Divine Legs. We invited our New York subscribers to attend this getaway-inspired event at Caudalie’s boutique in the West Village for a night of cocktails, photo booth fun, and a meet-and-greet with one of the founders, Bertrand Thomas. Find out more about the event, and this innovative product, after the jump!
Meet These Awesome Birchbox Subscribers From New York!
A few months ago we put out a call to all our NYC-based members to come meet us in New York’s SoHo neighborhood for a chance to be in a Birchbox video. We were thrilled to meet so many amazing members who all came prepared to talk about their favorite beauty tips and the products they swear by. Now you can find out all about them, too!
Watch the video and then tell us in the comments below: What’s the one beauty tip that has made a difference for you?

Last night, we teamed up with one of our favorite brands, Caudalie, to throw an awesome event for our New York subscribers. Tri-borough area Birchboxers had the chance to score eye treatments, head and arm massages, and oxygen infusion facials—plus, an opportunity to meet the company’s founders, Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas—at Caudalie’s Vinotherapie Spa in the Plaza Hotel.
We were excited to see so many gorgeous members in attendance (ladies, you make up one stylish crowd)! But the extra-exciting moment for us editors was sitting down with Mathilde and Bertrand to find out their favorite summer beauty trends, and the product that they just can’t stop talking about. Click through to see pics from the event and find out about Caudalie’s hottest new product!
Last night, Birchboxers stormed Dermalogica's flagship store in Soho for an invite-only skincare event for our NYC subscribers. Between sipping on wine and snacking on gourmet cheeses, our lovely members had the chance to mingle with Birchbox staffers and see Dermalogica's expert skin therapists for free consultations and treatments. Click through for our favorite pics of the jam-packed event!
We found Melissa when she responded to our recent Birchbox Mom’s post. She told us that she was a Birchbox mom too and that she valued Birchbox as a way for busy moms like herself to treat themselves every month. If there’s one thing we love around here, it’s moms, so we reached out to learn more about Melissa. Here’s what she had to say:
How many kids do you have?: I have three children, all boys, ages 12, 6, and 2.
How long have you been a subscriber? I have only been a subscriber since January 2012. I loved my January box and am really looking forward to my next one.
What do you like about it? My favorite thing about Birchbox is getting samples of products that I wouldn’t have tried or even known about on my own. Plus, the deluxe sizes allow you to really decide if you like something.
Why do you think Birchbox is good for moms? As a busy mom, it is very difficult to find the time to go to a store and look around for a new product. Most of the time I would need to bring along my very uncooperative two year old, which isn’t very conducive to browsing. Birchbox has given me the opportunity to try new things and get out of the skincare rut I have been in.
Are you a Birchbox mom? We’d love to hear your story in the comments below!
It’s no secret that we’re a pretty mom-centric office. Back when our subscriber count was in the four digits, we joked that mamas Beauchamp, Chen, and Barna were keeping the lights on in the office by buying face cream. Nowadays, even though our membership and our team have grown, we still have plenty of maternal support. Every month, our Birchbox moms send us their own pictures and videos, and tell us their (honest!) opinion of their products. It’s some of our favorite feedback. Here are some pictures of Birchbox moms and their latest deliveries.
We love seeing how our creative members repurpose their old Birchboxes. We’ve seen them used as drawer organizers, collage canvases, and nail polish storage containers. But this most recent creation might take the cake: Kathryn, the eight-year-old daughter of Birchbox subscriber Michelle, turned one of her mom’s old boxes into one of the world’s most iconic structures. Pretty impressive, no? We gave the duo a call to get the inside scoop.
Names: Michelle and Kathryn
How long have you been a Birchbox subscriber? Six months.
How did you find out about Birchbox? Someone posted it on Facebook and I was like, “What the heck is a Birchbox?” So I did some research and immediately fell in love with the idea and subscribed that day!
How did you decide to use a Birchbox as part of the Eiffel Tower? Kathryn’s idea! She had a school assignment to do a presentation on a country and she had to build something to accompany the project. She choose France. We decided we’d try to make the Eiffel Tower out of things we had around the house. When it came time to create the base she said, “How about a Birchbox?”
Thanks again to Michelle and Kathryn for sharing their Birchbox story with us. Do you have a Birchbox story you’d like to share? Send it our way!
A few months ago, we asked all you Birchboxers what you do with your old boxes after you’ve emptied them. Unsurprisingly, you have some pretty creative ideas. This month, we were super excited to see an email from Birchboxer Annie Takeoka who has been a member since March and has endless ideas about ways to use them. Keep reading for all of her suggestions and then click through to her blog for more DIY ideas.
Use #1: I recently got married and had so many thank you cards to make and write. I recycled a Birchbox and used it to carry all my supplies to and from work everyday. During my breaks, I pulled out the box and worked on the cards. Having everything in one small, CUTE box made it so easy!

Oh, how we love Facebook here at Birchbox. Not only is it the easiest way for us to stalk all our frenemies, it’s also an ideal place for us to connect with our members and share everything that’s happening over at Birchbox HQ.
For better or for worse, Facebook is always introducing new features and last month they released one that we just love. You’re now able to tag your favorite pages, aka Birchbox, in any of your photos, and they’ll show up on our photos tab. Don’t worry— privacy settings still apply.
We love seeing Birchboxes out in the real world and especially love seeing our members use the products in our shop. Go ahead and snap a pic to share next time you’re opening your Birchbox or using your favorite Birchbox products!
P.S. A major new redesign is rumored to be coming to Facebook soon! Are you excited or anxious?
