This bathroom bears a striking resemblance to a handbag. (Photo: Curbed)
While I love designer handbags as much as the next girl, I think this Louis Vuitton-themed bathroom proves that sometimes there really can be too much of a good thing. This extravagant decor is part of a condo listed for sale in San Pedro, California, and you may be surprised to learn that it’s not the only time in recent history that an excessive use of designer logos have cropped up in home decorating.
We fell hard for Natalie Alcala last fall, when the LA-based writer and blogger spent a week guest blogging for us. In fact, we loved her posts so much that we asked her to be a contributing editor. In addition to blogging for us once a week, she’ll also be writing for the Birchbox Magazine and keeping us up to speed on all things fashion, beauty, and fun.

Given my obvious obsession with luxurious spa experiences, you’d think that I’ve seen it all when it comes to over-the-top pampering perks. I thought I was pretty savvy too, until I heard about Auberge Resorts’ ridiculously cool seasonal spa pairing packages. The concept: take spa treatments and match them with handcrafted cocktails that use similar ingredients. Genius much?
Sadly, we can’t all run off to swanky spa retreats. Instead, I’ll be doing the next best thing: pairing these four DIY Beauty Treatments with four tasty cocktails.
1. Cleopatra’s Beauty Mask and a Pineapple Cherry Amaretto Sour: A fruity face mask matches perfectly with this tropical tippler, a blend of amaretto, cherry and pineapple juice, and seltzer water.
This week’s guest blogger, Rodan Luo, is a lawyer by day and stylish blogger by night. We can’t get enough of her blog, full of eloquent musings and excellent advice. Since she’s also one of our jetsetter role models (the frequent traveler was most recently in Sayulita, Mexico), she’ll be blogging all week about ways to make travel even more awesome.

When I was young summer meant three things: swimming pools, watermelon, and vacation. Now that I’m older, traveling has become one of the most important things in my life and one of the main reasons I continue to love summer so much. I’ll be here all week to give tips and ideas to make travel (and recovering from travel) easy and fun.
Since most of us are in Memorial Day Recovery Mode, today I’m focusing on the importance of detoxing. Our bodies work naturally to detoxify every day, but sometimes they become overloaded (those margaritas, that pan of brownies). Detoxing is a great way to help our body rebalance itself. Here are three skin detox ideas that will help you achieve glowing skin without the commitment of a raw food diet or juice cleanse.
I’m not usually one to go all spendy on bath products but I can’t resist Molton Brown. The UK company creates delicious scents with equally delicious brit-fab names (Blissful Templetree, anyone?). For years, my favorite has been the Re-Charge Black Pepper, their bestselling men’s scent that has a cult following among women too. It’s wonderfully spicy and clean without being masculine. Now, Molton Brown has finally created a feminine follow-up, the new Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod. Tongue-twisting properties aside, it’s an instant charmer, warm and delicate without being too sweet. The Pink Pepperpod bath gel, bath milk, and lotion all hit counters in Sept - start making space on your shelf for this new classic.
