1. Section out the top half of your hair and clip it aside for later. Spritz the bottom half lightly with hairspray. I am using Kenra Volume Spray 25.

A huge part of getting your flat iron curls to turn out well is using the right kind of flat iron. You’ll want to look for one that’s skinny, has rounded edges, and gets somewhat hot on the outside of the plates as well. For these curls I used the GHD Classic Styler.

1. Start by spraying spray wax through the ends of your hair to add texture. I am using Short Sexy Hair Play Dirty.

2. Take a small section off of your part and wrap it around a curling iron towards your face. For this type of curl, you can use any size curling iron.

1. On freshly washed hair, towel dry, but DON’T brush it out. If your hair has no natural curl, brushing it will only make it more straight. Instead just shake it out or run your fingers through it.

2. Apply curl cream or mousse to the ends, scrunching it up as you apply. Some of my favorite products for this style are Unite Boing Cream and Pureology Silk Bodifier.
