Yikes! The Return of The Scrunchie
I love a good ’90s throwback just as much as the next girl—Saved by the Bell, Spice Girls, Buffy, andthe list goes on. The scrunchie, however, is one ’90s phenomenon that I don’t have any nostalgia for and I’m not keen for the trend to make a comeback.
But designers have something different in mind. Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs, Ashish—they all are putting their support behind this flamboyant hair accessory. And scunchies have even been cropping up in more price-friendly stores like Topshop and Asos too, which makes me wonder: Will the scrunchie make a return to the mainstream?
While I won’t be embracing this style anytime soon, I totally recognize that many people out there have been waiting for this day to come. What are your feelings on this ’90s-girl look? Are you pro or con? If you’re interested in getting one for yourself, check out these options, just please promise me you won’t go spending $95 on this one from Missoni.
