Happy Summer! Five Things To Do With Your Extra Time.

Well, it’s finally here guys: Summer! Today, June 21st, marks the Summer Solstice, or the longest day of the year. Before you get all excited, keep in mind that today is really only about two seconds longer than yesterday. With that said, there are TONS of things you can accomplish in those two seconds. Don’t believe me? Read it and weep (with happiness):

1.     Dismiss Oily Skin: TATCHA Aburatorigami blotting papers soak up excess oil from your face instantly.

2.     Hydrate Dry Skin: On the other hand, you can also hydrate your cakey, dehydrated skin and keep makeup in place with a single spritz of Sircuit Molecular Mist.

3.     Glossify Your Lips: Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss comes in five shimmery shades, all subtle enough to apply without a mirror.

4.     Get a Tan: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads are a tan and exfoliator in a towelette. Swipe these on in two seconds (making sure you get all areas of your face and décolletage evenly) and your tan will develop over the next three hours.

5.     Get Shiny, Shiny Hair: Shu Uemura Essence Absolue delivers perfect hair with one pump. Work it from mid-lengths through the ends (one Miss-iss-ipp-i) for a high gloss effect.

An Ode To The Push-Up (Makeup That Is)

Stila’s discontinued push-up in Fuchsia Flash.

I have a serious love for double-duty products. I mean, one product that works in two ways is so efficient. Since I am usually in a rush, whether I am running out the door for work in the morning or hurrying to meet friends for a night out, I am always looking for easy ways to save time. For that very reason, I have been a longtime devotee to Stila’s color push-ups in both Fuchsia Flash (above) and Sweet Flash (a pretty coral color). The gel-like sticks glide on so easily and I can use them to swiftly apply color to both my cheeks and lips. Today though, I had a heartbreaking moment when I found out that the company no longer makes my favorite in-a-pinch product. I am just going to have to find a substitute, but it’ll be tough to match my first love? But I’m willing to give Stila’s Convertible Color palettes, which can be used either as a blush or lip color, a shot.

Or maybe I’ll just have to start a petition. I want the push-ups back!
