For the longest time, Jennie Pan has been toiling away at marketing analytics all by her lonesome in our offices. Finally, along came Kristin to ease her workload and now together, they form a two-woman wolf pack. This former Booz Allen strategy and change consultant is constantly creating fantastic analytics packages, but aside from number-crunching Kristin is also intensely creative, eschewing all TV-watching for landscape photography, needlepoint, and yoga. Fun fact: Are facts fun? If they are, my nicknames are DJ ICE, Euge and Kris. I once went camping for a month and didn’t shower the entire time. I make lists, have a photography blog, and am usually too honest. Oh! And I used to play competitive ice hockey and my team went to nationals. Lastly, I used to have a hippo beanie baby named Susan and made her bunk beds. Obviously she needed them.

We’re big-time fans of Kiehl’s products! These are our favorites. Which are yours?
Dermatologist-in-training and all around cool girl blogger Aegean Chan is the savvy mind behind super-skincare blog Aegmora. Chan educates and enlightens readers with particularly informative posts that tie together her science background and her extensive experience with beauty products. We love that she demystifies everything from familiar active ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide to the newest trends like coconut oil. This week, Chan teaches us how to fight acne better, keep our skin hydrated, and protect it from the sun.
Moist. When it stands alone, that word makes men, women, and children squirm. However, that’s what makes this cake melt in your mouth and your baby soft skin divine to the touch. So what exactly makes your skin so silky soft and what does it need to stay that way?
All you wannabe biker babes, listen up: Kiehl’s is doing a five city motorcycle tour to raise money for amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. Starting today in Miami and traveling up the eastern seaboard, the charity ride will end in D.C. on the 21st. The brand’s president, Chris Salgardo, will be leading the pack as the team makes stops along the way at various Kiehl’s locations (see details below). Over the course of the nine days, Kiehl’s will donate up to $25,000 to the cause of HIV/AIDS research.
Dan, our Strategy and Operations Manager, is heading to Asia for an epic eight-day biking trip through Northern Thailand’s Golden Triangle, a section of the country near Laos and Cambodia. (On the way, he’ll make pit-stops in Hong Kong and Bangkok, too.) To prep him for his adventure, which will include zooming from back-country roads to manic, traffic-filled cities, our editors compiled a must-have list of essentials.

Just like every girl, I am a sucker for a deal, especially when it comes to beauty products. I always scour stores for cheap new thrills and here are some of my favorites.
L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara in Carbon Black, $9: A lash fortifier and mascara for the price of one! I found this tiny treasure a year ago and have been a loyal user ever since.
Zoya Nail Polish, $6: These fab nail polishes are eco-friendly and stay put for at least a week. They come in a variety of hot shades for summer.
Listerine Whitening Rinse, $6: My roommate from college introduced me to this one minute beauty quick fix. Just rinse after brushing and watch your teeth glow.
Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo, $11: Don’t have time to wash your hair? This product is a life-saver, just dab some on your scalp and rub in—no shower required.
Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, $6: The perfect remedy for chapped lips or put some on your lids for an added shine.
Garnier Fructis Anti-Humidity Hairspray, $5: This spray acts as a barrier, protecting your hair from frizz-inducing humidity. I love to spritz this on right before leaving the house on a sticky summer day.

Once a week, Birchbox’s resident yoga and men’s product expert, Eric, will give us girls some insight into his world in You’ve Got Male. Whether he’s giving his expertise on skincare (boys need advice, too!) or highlighting his new favorite grooming trend, this guy has got taste—so we’re lucky he’s on staff and willing to share.
Dad needs help with grooming, too! My father has always been extremely grateful when I’ve gifted him grooming products. I usually aim for simple upgrades from basics he’s already using or something new that’s fast and easy that he can incorporate into his routine. This year, throw together a bundle of products for Dad and see how it goes! Here are some of my picks.
Nuxe Réve de Miel Lip Balm
This is officially my new favorite lip balm. It’s rich and creamy without being at all goopy. The citrus scent is fresh and light. Plus, the tub-style packaging is reminiscent of the classic Carmex, so dad won’t feel like he’s using something fancy.
Kiehls’ Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+
This is a perfect product for that Dad who refuses to wear sunscreen when he’s on the golf course or in the yard. Tell him this is a quick, easy step after his shower. It’s so lightweight that is goes on effortlessly and he won’t even feel it on his skin.
Herban Essentials Towelettes
Incredibly easy to throw in a car glove box, these towelettes are a great way for him to clean up his hands after a meal on the go or before a big meeting. Consider it an all-natural upgrade from Wet Wipes!
