While we adore video tutorials, sometimes we need a quick step-by-step that we can move through at our own pace. Enter: gif tutorials. Like videos, they make it easy for us to imitate the motions, but we don’t have to press pause every time we need to see a difficult step again. Plus, aren’t they just more fun to watch? We’re introducing a new series of beauty gif tutorials that teach you how to get our favorite looks—from braids to cat eyes—in simple, animated ways.

Making My Very Own Lipstick at Bite Beauty’s Lip Lab

I tend to associate custom beauty products with major celebrities and people with far more money than me. A one-of-a-kind product that I created would be fantastic, but I’ve kept that dream on my “If I win the lottery”-list. (I know you have one too.) Well, that was until Bite Beauty came along.

The Canadian beauty brand recently launched their pop-up lipstick lab in New York and I have been freaking out about it ever since. I could make my own lipstick? Right there in the store? For only $28? I had to go.

Yesterday, I finally paid a visit to Bite Lip Lab and it was better than I imagined. In just 7 minutes, the beauty lab techs helped me create a custom lip color that I know I’ll be wearing all summer long.

Gisele Bündchen’s Tongue-In-Cheek Spa Day Photo Shoot for Vogue Italia

We’re all too familiar with the extreme measures some celebrities take to stay young and beautiful, and Vogue Italia has taken a tongue-in-cheek look at some of today’s beauty rituals. Together with supermodel Gisele Bündchen and photographer Steven Miesel, the cover and feature photo story for July’s health and beauty issue showcases some of this year’s most buzzed about beauty treatments—from the typical pedicure to mud baths to the (slightly creepy) “vampire” facial.

And while it may seem like Gisele is enjoying the perks of an increasingly common high-end beauty routine, the photos seem to be gently poking fun at these new rituals given the supermodel’s past comments about being “real and raw.”
