Once a week, Birchbox’s resident Yoga and men’s product expert, Eric, will gives us girls some insight into his world in You’ve Got Male. Whether he’s giving his expertise on skincare (boys need advice, too!) or highlighting his new favorite grooming trend, this guy has got taste—so we’re lucky he’s on staff and willing to share.
Unless you live under a rock, you know that tomorrow is Fashion’s Night Out. Stores are open late, retailers throw parties, and special events encourage shopping and generally get everyone pumped about fashion. Because Manhattan is the fashion capital (in the U.S. anyway), I decided to dedicate this post to two of my favorite NYC-based beauty brands.
Lipstick Queen: This company holds a special place in my heart because I worked there for two years. Founder Poppy King (who is one of the coolest ladies in the beauty biz) launched this brand in New York after creating a line of lipsticks in her hometown of Melbourne at the ripe age of 18. Her 20 years of experience has made her the go-to expert in lip color and she’s developed an array of NYC-inspired shades, including an amazing chubby lip gloss pencil called Chinatown.
Kiehl’s: Founded out of a pharmacy in the East Village in 1851, you have heard me sing the praises of this brand here before. Skincare that is effective without frills, has chic branding, and easy-to-understand messaging has made Kiehl’s super successful. Their über cool boutiques punctuate New York City and their newest location even includes a spa. One of my favorite products that I’ve been using a lot lately is their Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+.
If you are in NYC, come to the SCOOP NYC + Birchbox Fashion’s Night Out event at the SCOOP Meatpacking store (430 West 14th Street) starting at 6pm.
