Jeremy Scott fall 2011, Lauren Conrad
While everyone is still on the ombré hair train, I’ve been obsessing over the rainbow tresses that appeared on the runway this year, especially at Jeremy Scott’s fall 2011 show. However, the outré designer’s choice of chunky multi-hued strands is a bit too bold for my taste, so I’ve been looking for more subtle alternatives. Enter the dip-dye effect.
I’m loving Lauren Conrad’s bold but wearable take on the technicolor trend, which she recently revealed on her own blog. One of my favorite up-and-coming jewelry designers, Kate Albrecht (also known as Mr. Kate), whipped up this super-easy video tutorial for anyone looking to give their tips some pizzazz. Kate only experiments with one highlighter hue, but if you’re looking to replicate Lauren’s look, simply repeat each step with punchy colors like turquoise and purple. Happy dipping!
