I’m usually an OPI addict, but this weekend I stepped outside of the box and was fortunate enough to test out three new Crackle metallic colors from China Glaze. Months ago, a dream came true—a pop-star-nail-polish collaboration happened and Katy Perry’s shatter was born. I was thrilled because this was a whole new finish for me.
But then the impossible happened—OPI let me down. Shatter was innovative, but too thick and clumpy. So I decided to give China Glaze’s new Crackle shades a try and tested three colors: Platinum Pieces, Haute Metal, and Tarnished Gold. I love to use bold color on my nails and I think that Tarnished Gold really spices up any color. The others—Haute Metal (a purple-pinkish color) and Platinum pieces (silver)—are best over a darker polish.
I experimented with tons of colors combos this weekend (I swear I did some other fun outdoor things too, I’m not a complete recluse) and my favorite was Revlon’s light pink Temptress paired with Tarnished Gold Crackle. Guess what? Crackle didn’t clump, and overall I am very impressed.
