The Korean Products That Our Editors Are Crushing On

image

If you’re a regular reader of the Birchbox blog, you’ve probably heard us recount our deep love for Asian beauty products in the last few years. One of the first brands that we turn to for innovative Asian skincare is Dr. Jart+. The Korean line made its way over to the US a few years ago, and their BB creams (along with many other products) have been a big hit ever since.

A few months ago, the Birchbox editors had a chance to try out a few of Dr. Jart+’s more inventive products—and two of them swept us off our feet. Take a peek below to find out which hydrating and skin-clearing super-troopers editors Lorelei and Candice are crushing on.

Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask

Dr. Jart+’s Sleeping Masks fall squarely into the category of products I never imagined I’d need. But since Candice passed along this Sleeping Mask for me to try, it’s taken a prime placement in my evening skincare regimen. I have very dry skin but sadly also tend to slack when it comes to making time for serums and masks that will truly hydrate my skin. So a product that hydrates and refreshes skin, plus does its work while I’m getting my beauty rest, is almost too good to be true.

All you need are a few pumps of the mask applied on your face and neck in the evening before you hit the hay. The lightweight, gel-like formula soaks into my skin quickly, leaving it feeling soft—never sticky. A blend of natural oils including lavender, sandalwood, and chamomile provide a soothing fragrance—I like to take a few deep breaths after applying for a mini aromatherapy session. While you sleep, hyaluronic acid in the mask boosts your skins moisture while cranberry extract increases elasticity. In the morning, rinse and say hello to a happier, hydrated complexion!

Black Label Detox Pore Penetrator

I have such an oily complexion that during the muggy New York summers my pores always get extra clogged. (Read: eww, blackheads!) While Biore pore strips will always have a special place in my cabinet, lately I’ve been using the Pore Penetrator to clear up and tighten my pores instead since it’s way gentler on my skin. (No painful peeling required).

Spread a small amount of this gel on your skin and then let it sit for 5-10 minutes. The formula’s grapefruit and willow bark extracts will sink deep into your pores, helping to clear them of dirt, sebum and dead skin cells. The final step to getting rid of the debris sitting near the top of your skin is to rub in upward circular motions, and very soon you’ll actually start to see little pieces of waste forming as you scrub. (Sounds gross, but it totally works at clearing out all that gunk!)
