Every weekend, I look forward to going back home to semi-upstate New York and winding down after a long week in NYC. While I love the hustle and bustle of the city, nothing beats returning to crisp air, green grass, and the sound of nature. The two days I’m home I take my R&R very seriously. I know I don’t have the time or money (the woes of a college student) to spend at a spa so my pampering days are spent in the comfort of home. Get ready to light some candles and put on some soothing music because here are a few of my favorite ways to relax and recharge for any day of the week!
1. How To: Brew the Perfect Cup of Tea
As a huge tea connoisseur, the very first thing I do to unwind is fix myself a cup of tea. This video shows me how to brew the perfect cup since there’s nothing worse than ending up with bitter or weak tea.
2. How to Apply WEI™ Golden Root purifying mud mask
I love masks of all varieties but after a rough week, I tend to reach for a mud mask to truly purify and refresh my skin. I love that this mask comes with an application brush to really set the whole spa-at-home atmosphere.
3. How To: Get Rid of Undereye Circles Without Concealer
Dark circles and puffiness are huge indicators of lack of sleep. While getting a good night’s rest is the best solution, these eye masks give my undereyes the boost they need even after sleepless nights.
4. How To: Get Soft Hands
If you’re like me and absolutely hate when your hands are dry and raw, these tips will leave your hands smooth and moisturized. I have no problem setting up a sock puppet theater every week if it makes my hands baby soft.
5. GIY Summer Hair Mask! | missglamorazzi
In the summer, my hair tends to feel dry and damaged, especially after a day at the beach or as a result of using hot tools. End your spa day by treating your hair to a pampering mask. Even better, a DIY (or in this case GIY, glam it yourself) hair mask! This summer hair mask from missglamorazzi will leave your locks smooth, moisturized, and volumized.
6. Relax and Rehydrate
For most of us, our only encounters with aromatherapy are during infrequent spa trips. Fortunately, Caldrea’s sweetly-scented body lotions offer the same relaxing benefits—without the hefty price tag of a chi chi spa visit. Made with ingredients that you can feel good about applying to your body, the botanical-based formula stimulates collagen to increase elasticity and hydration. Plus, Caldrea products are vegan and free of phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde, and artificial colors.
