A Week Of: Awesomely cool nail art (a.k.a. Birchbox’s obsession)

Monday: Essie in Turning Heads Red ($8.00), Butter London Matte Finish Topcoat ($14.40), Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Blazing Blue ($1.49)

I felt very patriotic with this red and navy moon mani. I’m already planning to resurrect it for Fourth of July weekend, potentially with a little star detail if I get ambitious. In this case, I had already been wearing the red for a day or two but wanted to spice it up a bit with a matte topcoat and the navy. I used Turning Heads Red by Essie, the Matte Finish Topcoat by Butter London, and Blazing Blue Insta-Dri by Sally Hansen.

Tuesday: Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets ($17.90) and Daytripper ($16.00)

I’m obsessed with these new shades by Deborah Lippmann, Between the Sheets (purple) and Daytripper (pink). They’re so fun and punchy, I couldn’t resist wearing them together. I did get a few weird comments from people that thought I mistakenly wore two different colors, but I loved it.

Wednesday: Deborah Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama ($16.00), Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Silver ($7.29), Zoya Topcoat ($8.00)

This look was a little bit starry night and a little bit preppy polka dots. I used Deborah Lippmann’s Don’t Tell Mama, a dark shimmery green that looks black in certain lights, and a silver nail art pen by Sally Hansen to create the dots. As always, but particularly with this look, I used a Zoya topcoat because the dots wipe off without it.

Thursday: Essie in Turquoise and Caicos ($7.99), Zoya in Dove ($8.00)

Again with the moon mani, I really love this. If you haven’t seen the video on how to create it, you’ll be amazed by how easy it is. Blue and gray go with pretty much anything, and I loved the subtle contrast of these two tones. I also like the bottom color on it’s own too, Essie in Turquoise and Caicos, a gorgeous summery blue.

Friday: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Bling It On ($8.50)

Okay, I have to say this picture doesn’t do this nail art justice (despite Meredith’s excellent photography skillz!). The hot pink sparkles are very Barbie and very, very fun. I keep pausing while typing to look at my fingers they’re so mesmerizing! I normally don’t enjoy applying super sparkly nail polish, but these are Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Bling It On—Minx-like decals that go on in about five minutes and need zero dry time.
