Summer Shrimp Salsa: Guest Blogger

It sent us down the rabbit hole to The Glossy Guide, a beauty blog created by the British style maven and her best friend. Salsa in England is something that comes thick and red in a jar, and you don’t find it in the refrigerator section. After moving to the West Coast and discovering delicious tubs of fresh and traditional salsa to scoop up with tortilla chips, I soon set out to make my own variations. This version was inspired by some shrimp tacos I had in Santa Monica.

  • 2 Large Tomatos
  • 1/2 White Onion
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • Large Handful Fresh Cilantro 
  • 1/3 Cup Cooked & Peeled Shrimp
  • 1 Red Chili
  • Sea Salt
  • Corn Tortilla Chips to serve

Chop the shrimp, tomato, red chill and onion up into very small pieces and toss into a bowl. Follow with the cilantro, finely chopped and the lime juice. Season with salt to taste and serve. 

This recipe is really adaptable with different ingredients depending on your personal tastes; why not try adding chopped mango, using pickled jalapeños instead of red chili or switching out the white onion in favour of red?
