Spring has sprung in New York and if you’re like me, you can’t help but stop and smell (or Instagram) the flowers. I love how they make the entire city come alive. Naturally, I’m taking a few cues from my favorite blossoms to add a little spring to my makeup routine with these four flower-inspired beauty picks.
Cherry blossoms are by far my favorite spring flower. As soon as I see them lining the city sidewalks, I feel like spring is truly here. And if you happen to be near Brooklyn this weekend, be sure to check out the annual Sakura Matsuri festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The occasion calls for Jouer’s Mineral Powder Blush in Blossom (how fitting!)
The bright scarlet hue of Beauty is Life Red Lipstick matches these vibrant red tulips. Pair your lipstick with a sweet sundress and head to the park with a picnic basket in tow.
These white shasta daisies are the same color as Stila’s Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Empress. A makeup trick that’s one of my perennial favorites: Use white liner to line the inner corners of your eyes to instantly look more perky and awake.
These sweet California poppies reminded me of Deborah Lippmann Lara’s Theme. The orange hue is perfectly spring-appropriate.
We might enjoying tiptoeing through the tulips, but that doesn’t mean we’re skipping out on sunscreen. Get the scoop on 5 surprising myths about SPF you should know before covering up.
