That “One Shining Moment” is almost here! With all of the rivalry going on for the Final Four of the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, we created a few different looks to showcase team pride. Orange, blue, gold, red: We’ve got you covered.
Stand out from the sea of orange-clad ‘Cuse fans by color-chalking the ends of your hair. Start by creating loose waves using a medium-sized barrel curling iron and set with a light mist of hairspray. Taking a small section of hair, dampen the ends you want to chalk. Next, take a bright orange pastel and swipe the color onto the hair in a downward direction. If you’re blonde, skip the dampening step and apply the color to dry hair until you’ve reached the desired pigment.
Too reminiscent of Chuckie Finster from Rugrats? Show your pride with a mod orange lip instead (or in addition!). I’m partial to Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in True Orange for a bolder neon look or NARS Cosmetics Semi Matte Lipstick in Heat Wave for something a bit softer.
Create an Instagram-perfect French manicure using bright yellow and blue polishes to show your Wolverine spirit. Start with a coat of blue polish like Color Club® Neon Nail Polish in Chelsea Girl. Once your nails have dried completely, tape off the tips in a straight line. Next, using a bright yellow polish like Color Club® Neon Nail Polish in Almost Famous, paint two coats onto the tips and let dry, finishing with a top coat. For an extra layer of awesomeness, swipe on a coat of gold glitter polish over the yellow tips. My fave: tenoverten nail polish in worth.
Wichita State Shockers
Show your support for Wichita State with a shocking (I couldn’t resist) cat eye that layers two different liquid eyeliner colors. Start with black, making a wing on the outer corner of your upper lash line. Glide the eyeliner across to the middle of your lash line, then flip the eyeliner around so the tip of the applicator is pointing down. Next, draw a very thin line from the inner corner of your eye to the middle of your lash line, connecting the line together. Now repeat using a bright yellow color. I love theBalm® cosmetics Schwing black liquid eyeliner for precise application and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in ElDorado for the yellow. Finish with a few coats of black mascara and cheer on those Shockers!
